Today I saw two medical paraprofessionals. One keeps pumping me for information so a relative can make her job hunt target my former company. I feel used when I'm in that office, since I avoid comparing my plan.

The other one made some assumptions about my "owning" a home, and how "poor" she was with her small home. I don't own a home, nor do I wish to.

How do others react when you're in a vulnerable position, in a medical setting for example, and there's no where to go?

I don't wish to be rude, but I just wish to get some things over with, with minimum pain, and not feel like I've be sucked dry information-wise in the process. As for the fees, they're WELL above the average rates, and that's another story

I'm willing to admit I'm not comfortable with intimacy, but if you have your pants down, or someone is doing something physically invasive, I'm not sure I need to emotionally opened up to. I have my boundries.

HiHugs: Yes, to me it would seem as though this person doesn't agree with something going on or something which was said. If it wasn't directed at me personally, I would let it go because it is her problem not mine. If it was happening because of something I said or did, I might ask if there was something she disagreed with and would like to discuss? I would probably say it in a very friendly way to show that I am open and willing to discuss different viewpoints/perceptions/ideas/opinions. If she says no, then I'd let it go. It's o.k. to agree to disagree. I wouldn't take it personally - even though it can be irratating and annoying at times (which that irratation and annoyance now belongs to me). I think that person owns the problem of the reaction and shows how she/he reacts to information with which they don't agree.

I had one other situation, and wonder if anyone would comment.

In a night school classroom, I noticed someone rolls her eyes, instead of stating something to challenge the thought.

This usually means, and tell me if I'm mindreading, that the person is disapproving.

Is it inappropriate for me to comment on this, if I attempt to do it as tactfully as possible. She's very hostile, and I think she's bringing into the class, her day's frustrations and expressing them in a negative way, each class.

The other time, she and her colleague pressured me into "going first". I refused twice, but caved in and was angry afterwards, since I'm bagged at the end of the day. But I'm not bullying one. I'm just there to learn something, and get out a couple of days a week.

I'd like to hear from others on this

Davit, In my goal of recycling, I now have a perforated dish washing glove that I can finally take with me in case I meet any selfish drivers.

I'm probably less assertive than i could be. I suppose with that man, the uncertainty leaves a space for my fear triggers to generate some worry "hairball" that talks on a life of it's own

I did wonder yesterday, when my brother was visiting, why he was negative about a treatment mom & I are having for physical therapy. I asked him to curb his negativity and ended the conversation, and later asked him privately why he was so negative. Staying postive is important for mom, who's not well, and I didn't want her motivation undermined, and made that explicit without making a scene. I think my bro had a bad day at work

It may sound "smart", but I'd rather be reticent in the future, in case he feels in a spiteful mood. This set off some worry, since there were other people, and I guess I've been as social awkward(or more) in the past.

How does the saying go "to error is .......... to forgive is.........." Can't remember the words. Blaming it on the opiates which are raising my anxiety level too. Bummer.

I'm not certain I should reply rudeness with rudeness, since living in the big city can get an unrealistic response.

An acquaintance inadvertently took another person's parking spot in a mall, and the distressed onlooker keyed the automobile, after objecting, although there were many spots in that mall.

What the upset person didn't know was that this "victim" didn't care, since he had a company vehicle from his major city dealership. Also, he has a second degree martial arts designation, and his son riding with him also studied martial arts., while the vocal person was a petite single female.

To borrow from another thread, "do you want to be right or be well"?

I only wish I didn't agree that the gentleman was "stupid", since it is difficult to tell how to line up at some places, and they differ.

SUV stands for stupid ugly vehicle, like some of the people that drive them.

I know a guy who carries a little tube of grease for people that park too close. He puts a little on their door handle. He also puts a rubber glove on there antenna with one finger up. I've seen people drive all over town before they realize it is there. I'm not recommending this but see some people treat rude with rude. He also has these little stick on bullet holes that look so real.

This is small town though, in the city a person might get the crap beat out of them for doing that. I once taped a sign to the tail gate on his truck that said "I'm an idiot" in big letters.
