JanA: I am just checking in on you. we are at the same point in this journey. I am pulling for you and want you to succeed. The members here have given you some good advice. I would add take some deep breaths and drike a lot of water. hat the water does I am not sure but it helps. Maybe it takes up time that you would be craving a smoke lol. Jan, It's OK to have a pajama day... I've had more than I can count!!! Just pop in a good movie and relax... or read a book. Anything to get your mind off of smoking. Crave the Quit! Hi, JanA. You have lost your best friend. For years your cig was right there with you. It celebrated with you in good times, comforted you in sad times, and distracted and calmed you when you were angry. But never forget that your "best friend" had two goals in life: To take your money and slowly kill you in the process. To do that he hooked you with the strongest addiction known, made you a junkie for him. Nice friend, huh? Right now boredom is your worst enemy. Got any projects you've been putting off? Any repairs, fix-ups, sewing, cleaning, painting, new hobbies or things you've wanted to try? Anything to break the routine and keep you busy. Hang in there, Jan. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 323 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,474 Amount Saved: $1227.4 Life Gained: Days: 60 Hrs: 8 Mins: 31 Seconds: 5

Jan - you lost a FALSE friend. That friend was using you and was untrue to you. Find another friend. Read, take a walk, pat a cat, whatever. Even though the friend was a FALSE one, you can still feel the loss. Don't you just hate being used like that? Maybe it's time for you to feel some anger toward this FALSE friend. Anger can be a great motivator. Hang in there Jan - you can do this. Okay so my nightly experience is usually come home..have a 1/2 smoke..make supper.... pick up dishes..rush down for the rest of the smoke..then sit back watch TV and have another couple of puffs later on during the night.. I might have smoked maybe 3 after 6...so why all of a sudden do I feel this horrible feeling of alone. I feel like I have lost my best friend. I know I have not lost anything, other than the strings that attached me to a filthy rotten habit. I came home and cleaned out the ashtrays from the garage..they had about a years worth of ashes stuck to the sides...OMG I thought I was going to puke... I had a moment earlier when I thought ..oh it would be nice to have one. Considering I washed out those ashtrays (for my mom and dad when they visit) and I washed my hands three times since..I can't get that gosh darn smell out of my head.. YUCK..maybe that will keep me sane for tonight.. OH WAIT .... I wasn't sane to begin with :) Hugs and stay strong .. remember to KTQ :) Jan
