You can do it!
I was just like you. I smoked 3+ packs a day for over 33 years. I started smoking at 12, about a pack a day. By the time I was 14 I was at 2 packs a day. By 16 I was at 3 packs a day.
When I was young I had a bad addiction to Cocaine and alcohol. As time passed, I was able to kick both of those addictions, but quitting smoking was one addiction I knew I could never give up.
But learn one thing, never say never!
Life events change you. Things happen that makes you re-evaluate your life and your purpose upon this earth. One day you will wake up and realize that there are other people in your life, people you love and care for you that you are hurting, but not aware just how bad you are hurting them. No, you are not hurting them on purpose, hell, this smoking is killing you right, it isn't killing those you love, and those who love you in turn.
If you are reading this, perhaps that day is today. Is today the day you woke up and decided you have to quit smoking? Is today the day you take control of your life? Is today the day you show your loved ones just how much you love them? Is today the day you look at yourself and say "I want my life back"?
My thought is, first and foremost, you have to WANT to quit before you TRY to quit. Everyone wants to TRY to quit, few really WANT to quit.
So what are you - A TRY or a WANT?
If you are a WANT, set your goals, pick your date, prepare properly and just get it done. Don't be like I was, looking for excuses. Excuses are nothing but another weakness. I keep finding one excuse after another, all because I was weak and gave in to this nasty habit.
Hey, I smoked for over 33 years. I smoked HEAVY, some days 5 packs a day! The day woke up and I saw my face in the mirror, I didn't like what I saw. My day arrived. I had to quit.
So if you are a heavy smoker, and have doubts that you CAN do it.
You can, I swear you can.
Take control and get YOUR life back. You will be amazed at how proud you will be of yourself when you know you have beat this demon. Just think about how proud your family will be of you.
Look at my stats. I was as addicted to smoking and I quit.
Being a quitter is a good thing sometimes huh?
