I have been missing you - where have you been? and how is your Mom? I think that you are just going through a blah stage. It sounds like you need a great big reward for being strong and continuing on owning your quit. What can you do for yourself that will make you forget about this sudden tremendous urge to put a cancer stick in your mouth and suck on it? The folks (which includes you and me) who are quit from 50-100 days have started a cruise to get to the beach - in the "Avoid Slipping" discussion threads - so first of all come hop on the boat! Then think of something wonderful for yourself just yourself - and do it! Don't compare your quit to your husbands. You know that everybodys quit is different. It effects us in different ways, in our thoughts and also in our physical response to the nicotine oozing out of our systems (do you really want to go back there to let that happen again)? Am I painting a bleak enough picture? I know that you are a strong woman. You helped me through every day of my quit - to begin with as a newbie - and now as someone who wants all the February Knights to stay committed to a fresh smoke free lifestyle. You ARE an inspiration to me and all others here! Hey Chicken Glad you came here and vented, created a space for yourself where you could work through this come to a place where you simply will not smoke. Thanks One little niggly thing in you post. Comparing your quit to boosters is dangerous. The way you did/described your quit and his seemed to me to be demeaning to you. You might very well be an inspiration, a great asset in giving your hubby the power, image, vision to quit. You have done so well. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Listen to the other posts be kind to yourself, reward yourself and relax. Thanks guys! I am sorry I have missed celebrations and hard times of others lately......I feel alittle guilty asking for support when I haven't been too supportive lately!! I guess thats the plus side of this group.....even after you fall into cyberspace, there is always someone there to grab your hand and pull you back to this site!! Thanks alot guys.....I hate cigarettes, why did I ever lite one to begin with??? The forbidden fruit!! Ahhhh.....this sucks.....can't wait till this slump passes......okay......it hasn't passed yet! :( BTW, IslandGirl, thanks alot and I am onboard the cruise ship......I did notice it recently! It seems everytime I start to come here something comes up and I don't get to but I am well in need of the SSC!!!! Crazy, Crazy Chicken up in here! The Chicken Fish,
you'll be fine. The sky is not falling.
Did you say that because of Chicken Little?? That would be my sons favorite movie that I watch like everyday lately!! Just curious. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 80 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 807 Amount Saved: $300 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 10 Mins: 19 Seconds: 9

What is my major malfunction??? Why now when I am eighty days quit do I find myself so very tempted around cigarettes lately?? Almost to the point that I think why not? I know this is completely stupid and pointless but its eating away at me again....really bad! So the answer to my question is ME I just don't want what I know comes with it!! I am also sorry I think I went away a little and don't check in nearly as much as I used to and maybe that has something to do with it. Maybe it's all in my head!!! Maybe I am a recovering nicotine addict!! I think that may be it! I am just kinda surprised that as much as I said I have my guard up and know that it's gonna hit, I really didn't expect it to hit this hard! I really feel slightly vulnerable for some odd reason. It really drives me crazy how well my husband seems to be without cigarettes! Maybe it is because I do well but I sometimes think maybe he is stronger than me and if crisis really hit it would be me lighting up! Never could I lite cigarette and smoke it without hating myself over it! I know this will pass I just am venting I guess or something!! I am just coming out of this one. It lasted a good week or two for me.. I think it was more like the last 2 weeks. I'm good now though, I feel much better. I second Lady.. this will pass.. hold on.. I think you responsed to my post that sounded almost exactly like this one! This has been the roughest psychological stretch for me so I totally understand. I guess I have given into the fact that now I will have to deal with losing weight without cigs (I'm very good a losing wieght with cigs ;-). But, I HAVE to do both because I REALLY don't want to smoke anymore.. my poor lungs haven't seen pink in decades. We can do this! It is a bit of a rough patch, but we can do this. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 88 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,643 Amount Saved: $616 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 13 Mins: 55 Seconds: 10

chicken, you'll be fine. The sky is not falling. I went through a pretty big trough around this time in my quit, too. You did exactly the right thing - you came here and posted your thoughts to receive some objectivity. That's half the battle. The other half is to not smoke. Like Hummy, in her infinite wisdom, said, go reward yourself. Be kind and good to yourself and know that this will pass. Believe it. You've done so well to get where you are. Rejoice in that. Have a little celebration. What does the Chicken like - do it. You earned it. Now go. Keep on keepin' on - fish My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 133 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,008 Amount Saved: $665 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 6 Mins: 39 Seconds: 3

Hey, chicken Ive been there twice and and look were I am at now. One time was at about 90 days and another time at 80. I could be at 6 months - but I am not because I gave into that nasty little fire stick. I could use the excuse that he just jumped into my mouth and lit himself on fire. But I wont, I did it to myself and now I am starting all over again. It is not a good feeling. So push this thoughts right out of your head and find something fun to do. How about the chicken dance on 80 days - Stand up and be proud and dont give in. Cuddles It's better to be a non-smoker with an occasional desire for a cig than a smoker with a constant desire to quit......
