Thanks so much for the inspiring words, Lady. I am going to print it out. Right now I feel that if I can quit smoking that I can do anything I put my mind to, how much more difficult than giving up smoking can all the other stuff actually be? Redrosie, I am so happy for you, congratulations. I think at this point, I'm close to, if not already in, the hopeful phase. At least I hope it doesn't get any worse, though I think I can handle if it does. Interesting observation, I can definitely relate and look forward to being where you are. I appreciate the post. keep on keepin' on - fish My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 48 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,459 Amount Saved: $240 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 6 Mins: 57 Seconds: 41

It's ironic that you post about change today Lady. I will be going into work tonight to ask about changing my work schedule to days. See, for 5 yrs I have worked evenings. First it was for practical reasons,(kids), then it became a comfort thing. I was afraid to move on because of the fear of change. Now since I quit, I am ready for all the new things that can come my way. I am eating healthier, excercising more and even coming here is totally new for me. Never posted before this site. This quitting thing sure can do wonders for your outlook on life, can't it? Feeling strong, feeling excited....redrosie My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 37 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 898 Amount Saved: $307.1 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 15 Mins: 29 Seconds: 54

Thanks Stoppin' for asking. I start in about 1 - 1/2 weeks. There is quite a hierarchy at my work so there is some concern about others' ruffled feathers. Oh well, I paid my dues,it's time for me to move on. Now I will be able to do things with my family in the evenings, looking forward to that. Look at you almost 2 weeks! It really does add up fast doesn't it. How are things going for you now? Keep Strong. I like this topic very much Lady...great job! *I'll try to add to it from a different angle.* We've all heard the old adage, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks." But it is not true. Any pet can be trained -- at any age~lol Just like any smoker can quit-- at any age (regardless of how long one smoked) You just need the right training, the right information, the right tools and the desire. ~all the best N2k My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/20/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 173 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,806 Amount Saved: $865 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 10 Mins: 5 Seconds: 10
