3kittiesrule, Hey, they don't call this place "Whinners 'R' Us" for nothing! :p I'm very glad you came here to vent and ask for help. Don't ever think for one minute you are a bother to us, because we are all in this boat together and need help from time to time. The old nicodemon is just taking a good crack at you. He knows you are stressing a bit so he figures it's a good time to try and get you to come over to "The Dark Side". (apologizes to Star Wars!) You need to understand that we are all recovering addicts and from time to time we will be tempted. Here is where you need to dig down deep, remember how you defeated the craves early on, and get those good vibs going again to smash this crave. Strength, Determination, Commitment and A Positive Attitude. Keep repeating those four things. This will pass and you will be stronger for it. Hang tough! Be Strong. Be Smart. Hang in there 3kitties. Getting hit with craves around 100 days (congratulations to you) is normal. Sometimes they are like the first week, but they do pass in a few days. I got hit around 85 days, or so, and spent about 3 nights curled up on the couch just waiting for it go away. It did. Since then it's been smooth sailing. Don't worry about asking for help. That's what a support group is for. :) You've got a great quit going, 3kitties. Just another day, or so, and you'll have it made. Hi 3kitties :) U did the right thing to come & post. I know it's hard to ask for help but if it saves your life, it's worth it! I was craving alot during the holidays and then I was ok then craving a little over this passed weekend but now am just fine and very happy that I didn't give in any of those times. I need to say that just b/c we stop smoking doesn't mean life stops. We still have to deal with our emotions and after using cig's for years to escape from "feeling" pain or whatever the emotion,,,it's gonna take quite awhile to "grow up emotionally" in order to not want to grab for a cig. Acknowledge the way you're feeling and if saddness comes, let yourself cry. Don't know why it's so hard to cry and why we fight it so much?? We always feel much better after a good cry :) It's not about quitting forever, it's about making it through just today. 1 day at a time. Forever is too overwhelming. I'll have 10 yrs sober this coming April GOD willing. But honestly,,,all I have is today just like someone who just quit today. The only difference is that I have some knowledge now that I didn't have in the begininng. It's the same with quitting smoking. A drug is a drug is a drug. An addict is an addict,,,no matter what the drug or for that matter no matter what substance we use to escape from our feelings. Whether it be, drugs, food, shopping, sex, adrenalin rushes,,,etc... Hang in there cuz u know you'll be happy u did. Don't let your feeling rule your life or define who you are. We are not our feelings. Feeling come and go through us and are temporary. They will always come and then go. Don't let your feelings control your actions :) Just some advice that's helped me to stay quit. No matter what don't lite up... Keep on keepin on... I do not know or understand what is going on the last two days. I am well into my quit, but all of a sudden I am craving so bad the last two days. I haven't had cravings like this for over two months!!! :8o: I am struggling very much with the nic demon. I am not caring too much about the quit right now and even though I reviewed my reasons, they do not seem that important right now. :( Why - I do not know. The only reason I have not grabbed one is because I know I will blow all the hard work I have put into this quit. Please help with some encouraging words. I hate asking people for things, but I feel extremely close to blowing the whole quit. Thank you all so much! I am so glad to hear that this is normal during this time of the quit and that it doesn't last long. I was starting to wonder what was wrong with me. I am glad to hear that this may be the last really big challenge. I hate this. Josie, I do not know what brought on this trigger. It may have something to do with the extra time I have because I just graduated school, plus I am nervous about finding a 'real' job. I don't want to rain on everybody's good time at the beach :(, but I forgot how hard this can be and just wanted some support. I'm sorry. Again, thank you all! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/2/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 107 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,228 Amount Saved: $481.5 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 15 Mins: 49 Seconds: 3

Hi 3kittiesrule, This is the famous '100 day' BLAHS (which can strike any time between around 90-115 days). It is all to do with your brain chemistry - your brain is developing new seratonin and dopamin neuropathways, and you hit a low between weeks 14-16. Many of us have been here before you - I cried for days during this time. You are not going crazy. You will get through it in a few days. HANG ON! You have come too far now, and this is the last push towards the top of the mountain. Just imagine - you will see the view soon. Cry. Have a bath. Be nice to yourself. BUT DON'T SMOKE. Lizzie :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/23/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1000 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 15,008 Amount Saved: 4500 Life Gained: Days: 97 Hrs: 8 Mins: 29 Seconds: 24

3kittie, Hold on! What made this trigger come on? For this week keep a journal and keep a notice when the cravings are bad. Go back next week and pinpoint why the occurred at specific times. Use your mechanisms and keep strong :) Come to the site for support and let us guide you. This sometimes happens at this stage, but you just made it to the beach and we don't like rain here. Keep us posted, Josie ______________________ The SSC Support Team.
