Quit,
When I read 3kr's post, I thought to myself "oh no! All the newbies are going to get the WRONG idea about these 100 day cravings!!!" And that's exactly what's happening.
Yes, the 100 day mark is rough, and it can sort of seem like the first week, but like Vicki said, you're a lot stronger and you know how to deal with them better. You have built coping mechanisms that you can put to work. So no, it's NOT like week one because you know how to deal with them. AND, the best part about it is that it doesn't last as long. In the beginning, you have Hell and Heck weeks and then Blah weeks, and honestly, that whole first month was kinda bad for me (up/down/up/down) but around 100 days, they usually last 3-4 days... some experience it for about a week, some only a day or two. For me, it was I think 3 days when I went through it (remember, I slipped and reset my meter, so that's why my meter isn't exactly accurate. I do know what I'm talking about here because I did go through this). I don't know about a year because I've never been that far, but I assume that it's a lot like 100 days in that it's a rough few days, but you know how to deal with it, so it's not as bad.
Quit, don't get discouraged about this! It's NOT really like week one because you have a lot more experience and you know that it will end. Please hang in there. It might not be that bad for you. PLEASE, hang on to your quit and find out for yourself. Because you now know about it, chances are it won't be as bad as you're thinking. Please don't give up!!!!
Crave the Quit!
