BREATHE IN....BREATHE OUT
BREATHE IN....BREATHE OUT
Remember??
Go to Stubow's recent thread about having a tough time. Butterfly Swimmer found Duffis's old post about how you feel after that quit-breaking smoke. Read it, and read it again. After this long, after being a mentor to so many, after working SO hard, having that cigarette now would hurt SO MUCH. Not when you smoked it, but try to picture how you'd feel after you put it out. I know how proud you are of this quit, and how much it means to you to help others on this site. Don't let that junkie-talk in your head convince you that anything else is true. Go back to those coping skills you had to develop in week one. Whatever you do, just don't put nicotine in any form in your system. You will curse yourself to starting over. I'm doing that now, and it SUCKS in ways I can't even articulate. (No sleep here lately, and last night I cooked and fully ate a meal for a family of four. Trust me, it sucks here, don't come visit!)
Tie a knot in the end of that rope and just hold on tight. Nets are going up under the rope as quickly as we can string them up. While you're holding on to the end of that rope, dozens of hands are reaching down and grabbing your wrist in case your hands get tired. HOLD ON LADY--THIS FEELING WILL NOT LAST, BUT THE FREEDOM YOU'VE WORKED SO HARD FOR WILL.
