Hey Cincere that's right I did forget about us being neighbors. How ya doing eh? I sometimes get confused as to when, where, how, what and why I said to who!! Now I'm really confused. Did you ever buy more patches or are you still nekkid? Congrats on 42 days. Hey Jess, Good to hear from you. Thanks for the sweet words. Are you feeling a little out of sorts today too? Maybe it is something to do with us being at 45 days. I have heard of others talk about having problems around 30 days. Maybe we're a little slow on the uptake. lol. Soon you and I and polly will be celebrating 50 days. YIPPEE!!! I know there are others as well, but I haven't heard from them lately. The more the merrier! This is how are lungs are feeling now. Redrosie...I love your posts (and your faces)! You are a HUGE part of this quit family. You are coming along nicely in your quit and you belong right here. There are times we all feel unappreciated. ALL of us. Not just you. Post away my friend you are doing a great job of supporting others. We are all in this together whether we have been quit for 1 day, 100 days or 1,000 days. Keep up the great work and keep those faces coming. :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 229 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,590 Amount Saved: $801.5 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 5 Mins: 25 Seconds: 16

Rosie, I'm on a quick break from school and came here to read a bit before going to class, but I just HAD to sign in to respond to this! I'm actually pretty stunned that you feel this way because this couldn't be further from the truth! You are most definitely a HUGE part of this quit family!!! There are SO many people that visit this site each and every day, so sometimes it's hard to get to know everyone, but YOU are someone that I have really enjoyed seeing post on the site. As many others mentioned already, your humor and your little smiley faces mean the world to me and many others who read your posts. Please don't think that you are not a part of the group. That couldn't be farther from the truth! The truth is, I have thought that many times myself... when I first joined, I was too young to be a Summer Buddy (that group has diminished) and I was too old to be a Smober (but they let me in anyway) and I kinda felt left out. Luckily Lady and a few others roped me into being a Smober and I have had a very close quit family ever since. But there are still times that I feel like certain people are ignoring me or don't like me... and then I find out, after stressing about it for quite some time, that that couldn't be further from the truth... it's just that sometimes, we get busy and we don't have a chance to respond to everybody. and then feelings. Please don't let that get to you... I had to learn the same lesson. A great way to feel connected is to #1 - join a quit group, like you have done... the Ash Kickers. And #2 - get on the SSC Messenger and really develop a close and personal relationship with one or two people that you can exchange email addresses with and chat with on a regular or semi-regular basis. I don't know where I would be without my quit buddies (you know who you are). They have saved my life (and my quit) on more than one occasion. So I definitely suggest getting the IM installed (if you haven't already) and chatting with some people to really make a connection. And please don't think you're not a part of the group because you ARE!!! I promise! Crave the Quit! Hi Red, hmm...what an odd post you have here... your support, along with everyone else's support, is appreciated even if it is not always recognized. There are a lot of people who make this site a welcome place to come when quitting smoking, and you have definately become one of them... I can relate to the feeling of becoming discouraged with your quit, as i feel the same way every now and then...it's not new any more, the thoughts/craves are still around and we feel they should be gone by now, non-smokers wonder why we're not over it already...after all, it's been over a MONTH already!! However, here on SSC, there's almost always SOMEONE who can relate with what you are going through. If you need a pat on the back, start a post called "please pat me on the back"...I know i need one every now and then!! So here's a pat on the back for you redrosie. You're doing a great job of keeping the quit, and that's what we're here for. Nekkid Breaker, Lucy p.s. (Keep on with the animated smileys - i LOVE those guys!!) Hi Red I dont know how I missed this thread but I want to add my 2 cents worth. I love reading your posts and find you one of the most friendliest people. I am sure it was that demon Nic that was making you doubt your value, but dont ever listen to him, he's the one that got you in this mess and were the ones that are helping you get out.......BIG CYBER HUG My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 301 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,028 Amount Saved: $2257.5 Life Gained: Days: 39 Hrs: 10 Mins: 4 Seconds: 54

Redrosie: As Josie so aptly put it, we all contribute in our own way and for some reason it always happens at just that right moment in time for someone. Posting is an experience. You are giving of yourself and are trying to help someone along the way. Sometimes we cry out for help, and it is always there. I post a lot and put up some deep and then some not so deep posts. I don't always read replys but I do look at how many people have viewed my posts, and that is my reward so to speak. Not the replys but the views. Your sense of humor has sparked my interest in your posts and I read every one of them. I have come to enjoy almost everyone on this site and what they contribute. Again as Josie put it, we are a collective group of people trying to quit smoking and stay quit. Along your road to freedom you will run into speed bumps, holes in the road and even a road block or two. You know what? They can't stop us from reaching our destination of freedom. Always remember who you are and that you are in control of your own destiny. People come and go in your life some are good for us and some are indeed harmful. One day at a time, one step after another and soon you are at your destination.
"I am not in this world to live up to other people's expectations, nor do I feel that the world must live up to mine" Fritz Perls
I hope this helps you to understand just how important you are to this side and your fellow quitters. redrosie, It's strange that you post this when you did. I read something you'd posted to someone else and thought to myself what a great response it was. Not to mention that little bit of humor and all those cute icons you put in there LOL. You're very valuable here...don't think for a minute that you're not. There are so many different levels of quits here, no one experiences their quit quite the same...and everyone has a different perspective. That's what makes it all work. 45 days is nothing to be discouraged with! This is probably about the time you deal with some of the more mental aspects of quitting. Keep hanging in there. You really are doing a great job. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/2/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 378 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,569 Amount Saved: $1349.46 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 1 Mins: 49 Seconds: 12
