Ex-roller, Way2go!
I was just like you guys.
The closest I came to a cigarette for some time was the 'butt can' outside the back door at work.
But I am no longer a virgin! *grin*
For my 6 months quit reward we went to a B&B at Mardi Gras and I was in a club where everyone was either smoking or wearing a funny hat.
I caught myself kind of fixating on people smoking. It's hard to describe. I wasn't really wanting one but I had to tell myself to stop looking at them so long. It was like a train wreck. You don't want to stare but you can't help but look. On the positive side, we were with some smoking friends and through out the night they bragded on me for quitting. I thought that was very thoughtful of them and it really made me feel good at a time when I was feeling like a minority. *Thinking about it now~I wonder if my husband put them up to it?*
Being around smokers has been less of a thouht trigger than seeing the brand I used to smoke in a store or getting coupons in the mail for my old brand. Seeing that damn logo...Now THAT irritates me~lol

N2k, I've been wondering how your 6-month reward turned out. I take it you had a funny hat? :p

Congratulations on successfully taking that step back into the world as a non-smoker. It's a great feeling to meet and overcome a challenge (real or perceived). :)

I am glad for you.....but never count the beast gone....he has a way of popping up at the least expected times. You don't need to give up your night out but just be on guard
