Sheeesh, it's hard to post a reply to this topic! It took my computer almost two minutes to load all the posts.
No matter what the struggle I do not at this time have asthma, bronchitis, COPD, lung cancer.
Terrific news! It must be such a load off your mind to know that for sure. I know for myself, I'm in a perpetual state of waiting for the other shoe to drop. And just to throw one more cliche into the mix, I'm hoping that I dodged the bullet like you did! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 258 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,740 Amount Saved: $774.00 Life Gained: Days: 26 Hrs: 14 Mins: 38 Seconds: 19

Hi Phillip! Sounds like great news. If youre into alternative medicine and healing through food, you might want to read UltraMetabolism by Dr. Mark Hyman. Its definitely worth the time. Good luck on the weight issue. Ive fallen in love with the rowing machine (as long as I have a book on the iPod LOL). Not cravin', never cavin'. Just about to roll into 19 months! WOOHOO! Although I am not always the most positive person (THANK G_D for that!).I am if anything cautious. Having had some real breathing issues getting back into the city after being in the desert I needed to be proactive and make sure I was not glossing over any medical issues I might have. Having in the past few weeks, been through a barrage of medical tests to find that all is normal I move from traditional health practice to alternate health practice. The response I was having in the summer to hot hazy humid weather the air full of particulant made me most uneasy, let alone unable to get a full breath. What better way than to be proactive and find out what it is all about. What better way than to be even more proactive and look to alternatives even though there might be nothing that shows up as wrong in the traditional sense. So off the the naturopathic doctor, yes in Canada there is such a thing! The line that I have heard most is - "it is a good thing you quit when you did". The reason for this; because, although there is no extensive damage to my lungs! There is nothing evident, that my body with time will not be able to accommodate. So YES! Good thing I quit when I quit, it really is never too late. No matter what the struggle I do not at this time have asthma, bronchitis, COPD, lung cancer. I celebrate this. My heart is strong and my circulatory system is recovering. I celebrate this! I have been given back my license to exercise and create more health. Biggest challenge loose some of the weight I gained and continue to drop a few more pounds. Back to the pool and back to walking up a flight of stairs and getting off the streetcar a couple of stops early. So my challenge is to continue to increase what I do everyday to grab back my health. In addition to eating with a consciousness that spreads to how much food, and when, what kind of food and from where. So day by day taking more and more, fuller and fuller responsibility for the life I create and the choices that I implement in getting healthy. So the new lesson that is in place today. It is never too late! It really is never too lete! I will recover and I will get my health back and be more sound every day that I have to live. Ciao Be well all of you and see you in a month. Phillip :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 576 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 14,400 Amount Saved: $4,896.00 Life Gained: Days: 93 Hrs: 22 Mins: 47 Seconds: 6
