I had the day to myself today and decided to take a drive to find a special garden centre I wanted to go to. But, I needed gas.
Well it seems I wasn't alone. I had a backseat driver saying "buy some smokes when you pay for the gas." I yelled back: "I'M NOT BUYING ANY SMOKES. I AM NOT GOING TO SMOKE." And I Didn't. 1 point for me.
I stop and my parents house and as I went into the fridge to get milk for my coffee I saw a stack of cigarette packages in there keeping cool and fresh. I saw my life flash back about 28 years to the 15 year old who would then steal their smokes because I could not afford to buy my own. The nicodemon said "take a pack, they will never know and there you go deal done...we can get back to smoking."
I closed the fridge Another point for me.
I got very sad though, not because I didn't smoke, but for my Mom and Dad who are 75 years old, still smoking and who will never quit. Don't even go there about getting them to quit. As much as I hate that they have had to live a life of smoking, it makes me all the more determined to stay quit so that I do not have to live that life. The life of not having much of a life outside of smoking. They have one thing though....me and I love them and they love me.
An emotional Day 5 for me.
Trying to stay out of the pity pot.
