Opps- I was suppose to write 12 and a half hours. I know they were long hard hours fighting the nic monster I too battled with nic this weekend, even asked for a ciggie butt-- but didn't smoke--- today we are here and still smoke free. Go Cuddles- fight on. I'm here Cuddles. You know about the 30 day pit. Knowledge replaces fear remember? Stay away from the pit. Don't let your mind take you down that road. Focus on the good here. You are 30 days quit! AWESOME! You are succeeding. Your husband is being influenced by your quit! AWESOME! You are a strong individual and you can make this work. Kick that junkie thinking out of your mind right now and replace it with the good that is happening to you. YOU DON'T SMOKE so stop thinking like a smoker. We all have to learn how to deal with the ups and downs of life without smoking. We can all justify having just one because of ......whatever reason sounds good today, and then whatever reason sounds good tomorrow. Its a circle, a pattern if you will. Break the pattern Cuddles. Don't do it anymore. Refuse to give up. Get mad at this addiction because it won't let you go. Make it let go of you. Smoking kills and you want to live. Life is short. Freedom is waiting for you. Don't you dare give up now. You are making it. Cuddles, Trust yourself. You made a very wise decision to quit smoking. In fact, you've made this decision several times and each time, it was the best decision you could have made. You KNOW that smoking kills. You KNOW that if you smoke, you will feel bad about it. You KNOW that if you smoke, you will quit again. Do you really want to do those 30 days over again? Of course not! So don't! As ex-smokers, we have to find new ways of dealing with our stress. It's hard, but it's something we have to do in order to move on. You've got the determination. You've got the strength. Find these things inside of yourself and rise above the beast!!! As Winston Churchill said, "If you're going through hell, keep going!" Have faith that things will get better and they will. Crave the Quit! WOOHOOOOOOOOO CUDDLES!!! Just wanted to tell u that one thing that's really helped me to stay quit is remembering how good it feels to still be smoke-free after I make it through a "temporary" rough time. Sometime it seems sooooo unbearable but then sheese I'm soooooo happy when I made it through and I can still smell the conditioner in my hair! And it does smell really good,,,so fresh and clean! LOL My friend got into my car the other night and reeked so badly and I just had to say something. I wasn't trying to hurt her feelings. She quit one time for 12 yrs. so she knows what it's like to be a non-smoker. It just erks me cuz she's such a sweetheart and has children. And I just want to see her be around for their weddings and grandkids etc. Anyhow, I'm really proud of you ms. cuddles! Keep it up :) No matter what don't lite up... Keep on keepin on... Cuddles, you already know the answer to your question and have already received good advice, so Ill just say something I said to Lady a LONG time ago. DONT you dare smoke. Youll have to go through hell week again. Hang on to the lifeline. Itll get easier and so much better. Not cravin', never cavin'. Cuddles, I have finally found a lady in my widowed life and frankly do not have the time to come to your house and have one of those Come To Jesus talks with you. To that end, stop thinking that junk. You know you are stronger than that piece of cess pool - the nicotine monster. Tell hubby that 2 is to many. 3 a week can produce the same damaging effects as 3 packs a day. Do not doubt this, it is a fact. As I often do here, go the Australian Governmental quit site. Click on the Smokescreens and fasten your seat belt as you peruse what that junk has done to young peoples organs...the 31 year old lady with the lung pic is my favorite - If anyone on this site can visit there and then fail in staying quit, then they need a check up from the neck up. You can do this. I really need you to buckle down and do this. Bubba (Lindsey) PS - I am awarding you a Gold Star for your effort to date and would like to award you ballons at one year...do we have a deal? cuddles....the explanation for what is happening.....you are a nicotine addict. that's the heart of the problem we face when we say we are going to stop. Our addiction begins a long term, high pitched, gut wrenching scream. so just realize that there is basically nothing 'wrong' with you. YOU are now the one in control....stay that way.....all these side effects/withdrawal symptoms will finally pass.....but only if you persist. Don't let go of the control....don't smoke Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1528 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 61,132 Amount Saved: $8404 Life Gained: Days: 199 Hrs: 8 Mins: 15 Seconds: 17

Cuddles, Hang in there and do something for yourself right now! protect your quit at all costs. The quit is not going to be peaches and cream all day long :) I am sorry to hear about your neighbour and life does take us for twists and turns occassionally. What you are feeling is normal and it will dwindle. Use your relaxation techniques and reward yourself tomorrow and 30 great days!! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
