Rusty,
Point well taken :). There are many members who are sensitive to not being able to go cold turkey. Therefore, it is a great reminder to us all to understand all aspects of NRT's.
We have received many feedback questions regarding starting NRT's once you have already quit. These members were finding it extremely difficult to quit. They were on the verge of smoking again and our support and advice was not helping. Therefore, they needed to contact their doctor for further assistance to stay quit. Once they discussed their options with their health care provider they began the right type of NRT that suited their needs.
Wow...the affect smoking can have on us! Way to stay in control of your own quits members :)
Thanks to all who have participated in this thread :).
Respectfully,
Melanie

Good Morning Eve,
Thank you for posting your thoughts and concerns on going cold turkey. However, it is best to have an understanding that we all can not use this technique. The best way to stay healthy as you quit is to meet with your doctor. This meeting will help you understand what is best for you at this stage of your quit.
We appreciate your concerns, but please understand that some of us quitters are not able to go cold turkey.
If anyone has any concerns with the type of nicotine replacement you are taking, please contact your doctor for answers to your questions.
Melanie
