I know what you mean. I started studying for an exam and wanted to smoke for a day and a half. I find that Halls Sugar Free Vitamin C Drops help. Read from a reputable source that vitamin c actually can help take the edge off of cravings. Then I just had to use commonsense. Asked people to sprinkle commonsense dust on me. Smoking was not going to make me any more intelligent, wiser, or quicker. What it was going to allow me to do is procrastinate. Someone said something really help ful one day, They don't know anyone who is happy about starting smoking agin. You won't be happy about it either. I don't see the problem. You quit 6/7/2006. You've gone through many weekends without smoking. This is just one more. I really didn't mean to sound so cold. I guess what I meant is that you can do it. You've been doing it for weeks. I keep telling myself I'm not sure I really want this,Oh Oh junkie talk, Maybe you're not ready to be around smokers yet. It's always harder to see people smoke, that's when you have to double your determination and want to stay quit even more. Use your coping mechanisms if it bothers you excuse yourself and run back in the house, come out when ready . You have great stats don't ruin it now, you know all the benefits you get from not smoking, besides you don't want to go through this again......start from day one argh....Come on chin up you have proven you can do this. :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 59 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 899 Amount Saved: $236 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 21 Mins: 50 Seconds: 59

If you can't handle being around people that smoke without feeling like you are going to give in to the craving, then you should remove yourself from the situation. Start seeing what cigarettes for what they are ... useless. Well, BARELY made it through the weekend, but at least I can say I did it. I went to watch my neighbor play in his band with my husband and my neighbor's wife. Nice thing is, Colorado doesn't allow smoking inside even bars so that helped. Sunday got worse (but I still hung onto my quit) and my husband moved out. The fighting was getting to me and I was an emotional wreck. Not a dry eye all yesterday or today. But like saturday, I am keeping my quit because it won't solve my marital problems either. Disappointed and hurt but for some reason I dont succumb to my wanting of a smoke. Heck, maybe I do want this quit more than I thought. It would be so easy to get up and walk out my office and get into my car and go buy a pack but I dont. Then again, I re-read my week one journal and holy cow, no way because that was a mess to read considering it was jibberish and a lot roller coasters. So yes, I held onto my quit and am now just taking it one SECOND at a time (oh and going to re-read the journal again). I'm 65 days into my quit and the weekend is upon me. Our neighborhood has been having a lot of vandalism lately (ie my new car was painting about a month ago) and I know who did it but because he is a minore, the police have to have permission to talk with him (mom of course wont let him talk). This entire huge family has Antisocial Personality disorder and is making everyone else miserable and they thrive on that stuff. Well, last night one of my neighbors smokes and we were outside chatting and well, my craving is back with a vengence. The nicodemon has been trying to sneak in by telling me it will help me through this BS. Well, last night I didn't cave in but oh I so want too so very bad. My husband and I and she and her husband are going to a bar tomorrow night watch the band sing. There isn't smoking anymore, even in bars, here in Colorado but good Lord I want one. I keep telling myself I'm not sure I really want this, or maybe I'm not ready for quitting. Maybe I need a stronger reason (well geesh thought of doing this for me to be around for my kids to grow older was enough). Maybe this nicodemon is a complete idiot and really worming its way in and I'm so trying to fight it off. Sad thing is, when my hubby and I stood outside talkign to the neighbors, my husband even licked his lips when he and I smelled her smoking. Oh this 5 minute wait isnt' working either because this craving has been since yesterday evening.
