The heat/humidity will get the Blow Pops and Tootsie Pops. Don't know about the gum, it may survive.
We Alabama boys don't like being TOLD, but we are very susceptable to being cajoled into things, if done properly. ;p
Before you quit you need to let him know that for a while you aren't going to be the same person he's used to. You're going to turn green, grow arms from your head, and blood's going to run from your mouth. Then things will get bad. :gasp:
Seriously, you are very right in insisting he keep it outside from now on. He won't like it, but I hope he will accept it. Also, you're going to go through a few weeks where your emotions are going to be all over the place; you'll get snappish, cry a lot, be depressed, laugh uncontrollably, and will change in an instant. Tell him now that you love him and to be patient with you. If you feel like exploding, come here and explode on us, not family or friends. They won't understand, we will. Plus we like it. :8o:
You do what you feel is right for you on your quit date. I moved mine up and am glad I did, but that was right for me. Only you know what is right for you.
I have a suggestion. Flip a coin and call heads or tails for quit Monday or quit August 1. Pay close attention to yourself when you first look at the coin. That very first, instantaneous feeling is what you really want. If it's a good feeling, go with what the coin shows. If it's a bad feeling, go with the opposite side of the coin. The coin is just a way to trigger a true feeling that hasn't gotten muddled in thought yet.
You are so on the right track, Tina. I'm really looking forward to watching your quit grow. :)
