Hello all. I am not a dipper. I am an ex-smoker (3 days under my belt). I was drawn to this site because my husband (who wants me to keep not smoking) dips one time a day. Right before bed time when he settles in and reads before going to sleep. He falls a sleep with it every night and spits it out about 1-2 hours later. I thought this would be a easy habit to quit...NOT! He does not think of it all day (unlike me thinking of a smoke about every hour) but when that late evening roles around and it is time to settle he is fine if he has his fix, if not....watch out! As bad as me without my cancer stick! I guess a tobacco adict come in many forms!olor=Maroon]Text[/color] :eg:

Congratulations Infinite
Thanks for popping in and letting us know how you are going. I never really thought of it in the terms of being a slave to the cigarette but it really is true. When i look back now i shake my head and i realize i really was a slave to it. bowing down to its every need. Not anymore.

Here I am! Still not using Skoal. Life is good. I seemed to be over the lack of motivation hump. I even went flyfishing on Friday. Good stuff.
Just quit and don't look back.

I never did any dipping or chewing, but I did like to come and read the posts...........an interesting bunch :8o:
But haven't heard from them much lately...how come?
Being from Tennessee, I work with a lot of chewers and dippers. You learn real quick to look inside the Mellow Yellow can on your desk before taking a swig! :gasp:
Ollie, Ollie, in-come-free (isn't that from hide-and-seek?)
Come out, come out wherever you are!

If that won't bring you out, how about this:
"Who wants a plug?"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Infinite_D,
440 days under your belt! What an accomplishment! You must have a lot of advice for those embarking on this journey? What is the best advice you could give to your fellow dippers/chewers?
Thank you in advance!
Danielle

Kaycee,
Welcome to the SSC and congratulations on deciding to quit! Be sure to introduce yourself to the group in a seperate thread so we can welcome you properly and look out for you in the days to come.
3 days is a great accomplishment! Congratulations! How are you rewarding yourself?
With concerns to your husband, a change of routine and a replacement that he loves more than dipping and that also relaxes him may be they key to breaking the habit.
Good luck!
Keep us posted!
Danielle
