Phillip,
The cravings only have as much power over you as you give them. Take away their power by doing everything you can not to think about them. Each time a craving hits, conciously change your thoughts to something else. And when your mind goes back to it (usually in a matter of seconds), then conciously change your thoughts again. Eventually, you will get side tracked and distracted and can think about other things.
No, this quitting thing isn't easy. Unfortunately, it's the price we pay for having abused our bodies for many years. I don't know how long you smoked, but I smoked for 11 years. I haven't had a cigarette in less than 8 months. I can't expect my body to be fully recovered from what I did to it for YEARS in a matter of MONTHS. Phillip, it takes time. I know you're strong and I know you will make it. Hang in there and don't give up!
Crave the Quit!
Pam
