Thats the right attitude, you just have to dig in and be resillient. I get the same feeling occasionally but like you just think back to those first few days and think 'don't want to go through all that again'. Morning RDMan, The battle that goes on in our mind is CRAZY.I've heard it said that this truly is all out WAR. I tend to agree. I wouldn't say that this is equalling Hell Week but its awfully close. Hang in there. Just for today. Phillip, The cravings only have as much power over you as you give them. Take away their power by doing everything you can not to think about them. Each time a craving hits, conciously change your thoughts to something else. And when your mind goes back to it (usually in a matter of seconds), then conciously change your thoughts again. Eventually, you will get side tracked and distracted and can think about other things. No, this quitting thing isn't easy. Unfortunately, it's the price we pay for having abused our bodies for many years. I don't know how long you smoked, but I smoked for 11 years. I haven't had a cigarette in less than 8 months. I can't expect my body to be fully recovered from what I did to it for YEARS in a matter of MONTHS. Phillip, it takes time. I know you're strong and I know you will make it. Hang in there and don't give up! Crave the Quit! Philip, Your inner junkie is refusing to go without a fight and has to be dragged out kicking and screaming! You CAN do it, you ARE doing it. I think somebody said in one of your other threads a while back that some of us think too much and that could be why you are having such a hard time at the moment. Ignore it as best you can, it is just a brat throwing a tantrum because it can't get it's own way. Carry on using your coping skills, they are working fine for you. Thinking of you, keep strong. Ah Phillip! This quitting lark just sucks, doesn't it? The only thing that got me through it sometimes was that I knew the only way to make it stop forever was to not smoke. That junky talk says just one will make it better. and it will....while you're smoking it. Then, soon as you put it out, the craving starts up again. The only way to make it stop forever is to never smoke. The cravings I have now are nothing compared to what you're going through. It gets better. In fact, if you really analyzed it, it's prolly better now than it was those first weeks? As far as the pickles... *grins* go for peppers instead. The heat from the peppers actually increases ...ack...something about the endorphins like exercise. anyway...eating hot peppers actually stimulates the reward thingies in the brain. *laffin* I should get to bed...can't get the words right to say what i'm trying to say! Just hang in there...you're doing it!
