My triggers are:
Something happening beyond my control that I cannot fix. IE: The 2 hernias I have. Arguements and when my kids are sick. Overload on stress. When my nerves are completely shot.
The craves for me are: I had a set time such after doing dishes or cleaning. After packing the kids' lunch or cleaning. Boredom and talking on the phone. Playing the video game w/ my kids.
I would take my smokes and lighter, go outside and light it up. After 5 puffs, I put it out. I never went over 5 puffs / inhales. I would count them. Most of the time, the smoke itself still had more to smoke. I would not finish the entire thing. I would not have a smoke after a certain time which was anywhere between 7 - 8pm. The 1st smoke in the morning used to be at 6am.
I never lit up inside the house nor the car. I would always light up outside, regardless of the weather.
I know it is such odd behavior and I am sure y'all guessed I have a mild case of OCD. Everything in my life *must* run in an orderly fashion. I get upset, I balance the checkbook out in my head. I brush my teeth no less than 5 times per day. Same w/ washing my hands / face which is 10X per day or more. If something is broke, I will fix it or dwell on it until I can figure out how to fix it. If the kids come down w/ a virus or some type of infection, I scrub the house down, and each spray was 9X.
*insert wide eyes here* Erm, I look like an idiot!! ROTFLMBO!! Really, I am not insane. Really I am not =)
*slaps forehead* I noticed as I reviewed my post, the numerical sequence is: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Yes, I think I love numbers! HA!
