HAVE YOU MADE IT TO THE OTHER SIDE?

for 18 år siden 0 5195 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I too have made it to the other side and the grass is so much greener here. I painted my dinning room, ripped up carpet, refinished a hardwood floor and now have plum cabinets in my kitchen. lol I guess we all did a little re-decorating when we quit. Hummy your references are always awesome and full of excellent information. Thanks for all the links and all the help along the way. :) N2K.. you are so right. Hummy, Luna and Shevie should all be in the hall. well said hummy. I too am on the other side, and let me tell ya, I never thought I would be able to climb over that big wall of addiction to reach it... but I DID... and all you new folks can too. I am no different than you. Same fears, and worries, and addiction... but I made it. It was hard at first, and believe me, I lived her too for a while!! lol... but it gets easier, and now, I don't think of it at all. I just recently had to move out of my house due to a unhealthy environment, and it was nice to be able to look at apartments that said " non smoker only".... I am almost at a year, and trust me all you new ones.... I NEVER thought I would make it this far, but I believed in myself, this site, and my body. I beat the odds, I know that, but you can too. Look at all of us members, and when you tell yourself that " you CAN'T do it, just count the number of people on this site, cause they all said the same. We all did.!! Now look at us... almost one year for me.... wow. well.. thought I would check in, and leave my two cents worth. Living strong, Living long... Katie. Hummy, I'm showing my total lack of (I assume) fashion sense. What is the "new black"? Regardless, I am definitely on the other side and I intend to help as many as I can to get here, too. It isn't easy, but it can be done. Just look around (smile, oldies). :) Thank you, N2k and Lady. I'm flattered. Hi ya Shevie! Wikipedia: The new black" is a catch phrase used to indicate the sudden popularity or versatility of an idea at the expense of the popularity of a second idea. The phrase is commonly attributed to Gloria Vanderbilt, who upon visiting India in the 1960s noted the prevalence of pink in the native garb. She declared that "Pink is the new Black", meaning that the colour pink seemed to be the foundation of the attire there, much like black was the base color of most ensembles in New York. Worked as an illustrator for an advertising concern many years ago. We used the new black when describing whatever was hot in advertising at the time. So, in relation to smoking (the old idea), Not smoking is the new black. :) Not cravin', never cavin'. Have you made it to the other side? If youre deciding to quit or have recently quit, you may still be in the WHEN-WILL-IT-GET-BETTER stage. If youre hanging on by a fingernail (or a finger, because youve chewed your fingernail to a nub), believe us old guys and gals when we tell you how much better your life will be. NOT smoking is definitely the new black. Its also the best chance you have to save your own life. There are numerous posts on site about ways to quit smoking, reasons to quit smoking, and what quitting will do for you. Having lived at the SSC during the first few months of my quit, Ive read most of them. Ive spent entire days reading posts written by my mentors. However, that isnt necessarily the way for you. Some people get involved in something else that keeps them busy and helps keep them smoke free. One member started hiking. Another went on weekend camping trips because the weekends were hardest for him. Others use a balance of reading/posting and new life activities. My daughters room is now painted lavender with one wall that is color washed with blue and lavender and it has a silhouette of a bamboo tree on it LOL. Took me FOREVER but kept me from smoking. Anyway, those of us who have made it to the other side truly want to help you make it over, too. Im one of several post savers on site. I save references to everything. If I enjoy or learn something from a post, there is a reference to it somewhere on my computer. (My son says I should change the name Favorites on my computer to Google.) So, if your searching for ways to quit, reasons to quit, or just need something to read because youre about to climb the walls, here are a few posts that might help: My ideas: 1 and 2 Golferman's: 3 and 4 and 5 Duffis': [url=http://www.stopsmokingcenter.net/sup
