Cigarettes Not Smoked

I cannot feel the diference between crave and trigger. The impression is that when some BIG trouble come here to despair me the memories of smoking knock out my forces... Actually, I'm really mad today. I having an emotional trigger. Like Lady said: "I can physically taste that cigarette in my mouth right now". And the day has just begun... My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 246 Amount Saved: $32 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 7 Mins: 47 Seconds: 45

Well - today I am having a crave. I know it's probably not a physical crave or need but an emotional crave. Last week went by gently, many triggers but no craves. I think after afew good days, the craves kind of hit us out of left field (Dang! I thought i was done with those) I guess I need to remember how I got through those cravings at the very beginning and remind myself that "this too shall pass". Looking forward to the day when smoking is only a distant memory! My triggers are: Something happening beyond my control that I cannot fix. IE: The 2 hernias I have. Arguements and when my kids are sick. Overload on stress. When my nerves are completely shot. The craves for me are: I had a set time such after doing dishes or cleaning. After packing the kids' lunch or cleaning. Boredom and talking on the phone. Playing the video game w/ my kids. I would take my smokes and lighter, go outside and light it up. After 5 puffs, I put it out. I never went over 5 puffs / inhales. I would count them. Most of the time, the smoke itself still had more to smoke. I would not finish the entire thing. I would not have a smoke after a certain time which was anywhere between 7 - 8pm. The 1st smoke in the morning used to be at 6am. I never lit up inside the house nor the car. I would always light up outside, regardless of the weather. I know it is such odd behavior and I am sure y'all guessed I have a mild case of OCD. Everything in my life *must* run in an orderly fashion. I get upset, I balance the checkbook out in my head. I brush my teeth no less than 5 times per day. Same w/ washing my hands / face which is 10X per day or more. If something is broke, I will fix it or dwell on it until I can figure out how to fix it. If the kids come down w/ a virus or some type of infection, I scrub the house down, and each spray was 9X. *insert wide eyes here* Erm, I look like an idiot!! ROTFLMBO!! Really, I am not insane. Really I am not =) *slaps forehead* I noticed as I reviewed my post, the numerical sequence is: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Yes, I think I love numbers! HA!
