MAY BE A DUFFISM?

Duffis You must live in a pretty nice place!
You'll discover that each act of kindness you engage in makes the world, in some small way, a better place.
This is one of the most touching and personal posts I have read here. You MR Duffis are a very kind, caring and obviously loving man. Thanks for leading the way here in this stop smoking and get a life journey. Thank You and Thank You. Duffis... that is so NOT fair! Just when I am ready to walk away and want to be selfish and stubborn and ignore my own role played in this weekends events you go and post something like this! And then you make sure that I'm aware of it and go read it. *shaking my head* Kindness...OK. You have officially reminded me of who I am and why I am here. I am a kind person. I give back to this community the things it gave to me. I reach out to quitters, who I may never meet or ever verbally speak to and try to offer guidence and encouragment in their struggles to break free of smoking. I do these things because they are the RIGHT thing to do. I do not look for anything in return. Just do my best to try and make the world a better place for those I come into contact with. It is the Christian thing to do. I publically apologize for my involvement this weekend as well and will continue to support all I can here at the SSC. Thank you my friend for reminding me who I am. You are a wise man. Lady. Hi, SSC. I would like to add my apologies to everyone for all that has transpired over the last few weeks. The impetus for this entire mess seems to have been a couple of posts I made in warning that were mistaken as personal attacks on one member. A series of events occurred right after that caused nerves to be further frayed and things escalated into pure foolishness. But now it's past time to return to our mission of helping people quit tobacco. So to all the members and SSC staff that were affected by this, please accept my sincere apologies. Back to business. Duffis - I am blessed to call you friend. This world, this site and I are better for having you here. Thank you. And to Lady and Rusty and Hummy and Ladybugg and Shevie and Cheryl - these other oldies that have a year under their belts, I extend my gratitude for all the effort they have extended to all of their fellow quitters and to keeping the integrity of this site. They selflessly give, day after day, week after week, month after month. They do this without any need for adoration or a following. They do this because they believe in the power of this forum to help people get free from this horrid addiction. I am lucky to walk beside them. I know what you went through this weekend my pet and I know how hard you tried to be sane and yet be you. Today I am quit for 160 days thanks to your patience and understanding. It is not easy this quit process and there can be lots of fustration from time to time. Just remember that you are here to help, lead and encourage others to quit and stay quit. With out your help I would be lost, yet you never said a word to me during this entire quit. I know you were there, I know you watched and cared, yet you let me do my own thing and that must have been very hard knowing you as I do. Never quit helping people here at the SSC and as I read this post of yours, I have to wipe a few tears from my eyes. You are indeed a gentle man my Duffis. A lot has transpired this weekend here at the SSC and I have to admit I was not in great character, having my anger get the best of me at times. This is not good nor will it ever be good. If the world could replace anger with kindness what a better place it would be. During the quit process, none of us are in the best of shape mentally. From time to time, fustration, sadness and anger can overtake us and leave that sad empty feeling in our hearts. So digging in my chest of treasures here is one to share on kindness: In the quest to create a gentler, more loving world, kindness is the easiest tool we can use. Though it is easy to overlook opportunities to be kind, our lives are replete with situations in which we can be helpful, considerate, thoughtful, and friendly to loved ones and associates, as well as strangers. The touching, selfless acts of kindness that have the most profoundly uplifting effects are often the simplest: a word of praise, a gentle touch, a helping hand, a gesture of courtesy, or a smile. Such small kindnesses represent an unconditional, unrestricted form of love that we are free to give or withhold at will. When you give the gift of kindness, whether in the form of assistance, concern, or friendliness, your actions create a beacon of happiness and hope that warms people's hearts. The components of kindness are compassion, respect, and generosity. Put simply, kindness is the conscious act of engaging others in a positive way without asking whether those individuals deserve to be treated kindly. All living beings thrive on kindness. A single, sincere compliment can turn a person's entire world around. Holding a door or thanking someone who has held a door for you can inspire others to practice politeness and make already kind individuals feel good about their efforts. Smiling at people you meet-even those who make you feel like frowning-can turn a dreary encounter into a delightful one, for both of you. Every kind act has a positive influence on the individual who has performed said act as well as on the recipient, regardless of whether the act is acknowledged. Kindness brings about more kindness and slowly but surely takes a positive toll on humanity. Weaving the thread of kindness into your everyday life can be as easy as ch

What gifts you have given us all, Bob. The many wonderful posts. The clubs that will live forever. And, the mirror in which we see ourselves reflected -- humility, patience, kindness, and humor. I thank you for the courage to bring this out in the open so that we can see it and deal with it right here and right now. I apologized to the moderators and I apologize to the members for my role in contributing to the negativity. Now let's stop this "mucky fuddleing about" and go celebrate all the great quitters and our great new lives! :p Thanks, Jan, for adding to my vocabulary! I love you all.
