Mama, WOW, exercise first thing in the a.m.! I have to commend you for trying! Why not do something like read the paper in bed for those first 10 minutes or write out your to-do list for the day? Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Andy, Glad I could help. To figure out what you can replace smoking with make a list of everything you've ever wanted to do or learn how to do. That should keep you busy for awhile! And I'm sure you'll be able to find something that sticks. Good luck, Danielle ____________________________ The SSC Support Team P.S. BonBon what have you replaced smoking with? See my last post to Andy above.

Andy, Keep rewarding yourself when you overcome temptation. Have you replaced smoking with a new habit? Still keeping up with your reward system? Your want for a cigarette is common, generally it either has to with growing confidence or a lack of reinforcement (rewards), lack of upkeep with the new habits and routines you've established or exposure to triggers. Just remind yourself of the reasons for your quit, the benefits, use your coping skills and take some time to look at your behavior and learn from your experience. Have you been keeping up with rewards, new routines... is it an old trigger? is it a new trigger? do I have a coping plan for this trigger? Niks & Marie, Congratulations on 50 days! We are so proud of you both! Keep up the great quits June Bugs! Danielle _____________________________ The SSC Support Team

I did 45 min of swimming today for like the first time for that long ever. It was okay except the 50 times water went up my nose because I swim like Bush runs the U.S. ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh .... did I just type that???? The last 15 min of swimming got easier though, I figure the more I do it, the better I will get. I want to do cardio 3 times a week but not just treadmill so I am switching it up :) I quit smoking on July 16, 2006 at 7:47pm. It has been 4 days, 4 hours, 32 minutes, and 45 seconds since I quit. Had I not quit smoking, I would have: * Smoked 84 cigarettes (That's like smoking a 23 foot long cigarette) * Spent $17.93 on cigarettes * Inhaled 837 mg of tar * Inhaled 67 mg of nicotine (That's like doing 1,257 hits of nicotine) * Inhaled 921 mg of carbon monoxide * Taken an additional 12 hours, 23 minutes, and 51 seconds off my life I quit drinking on July 16, 2006 at 3:00pm. It has been 4 days, 9 hours, 19 minutes, and 45 seconds since I quit. Had I not quit drinking, I would have: * Drank the equivlant of 66 beers or 66 shots of Southern Comfort. * Spent $51.20 on alcohol * Ingested 1.51 litres of pure alcohol
