Doddledog, Please don't take even one PUFF, most likely it will make you dizzie, naseous and sick and it will not taste the way you remember it. One Puff is enough to make you a smoker again, maybe for the rest of your life. Do you really want to go through all the withdrawals again? Do you want to be a smoker again? Ask yourself those questions and if the answer is NO - Don't take another Puff! I know it can be difficult to see other people smoking, it sure looks like they enjoy it, but you know it's not true. They smoke only because they are addicted and they have withdrawals from the last cigaratte they smoked. I know that You don't want to be like them again! You have 160 days, that is something to be really proud of, make sure your hard work is not destroyed by one night! You did good to post and get it out of your system doodlebug! :) Simply for reinforcement Ill add this: Ill just smoke tonight. No I won't. Just one pack. It doesnt work that way. Oh just one party. Not one puff ever! This kind of internal debate is non-relenting. It will slowly drive you up a wall. So, you are smart not to carry on this debate. Don't think in terms of one night. Think in terms of full-time smoking. The full quantity, the social stigma, the smell, the costs, the cough, the risks. Stop thinking of the party and think about smoking in real terms and you will walk away from each urge with a sense of relief and accomplishment. Romanticize about them and you may walk away with a feeling of deprivation. You are not depriving yourself of any thing, you are ridding yourself of a drug addiction. Stay strong. One day you'll be able to go to a party, a club or a concert without a second thought about smoking--- just like I do. Hee hee hee J Love your last post. Thats fantastic for you. Heaps of alcohol huh. When I first quit I was afraid to go hang out with friends who smoked and afraid I may slip. Each time I would end up going home afterward wondering what it was I feared because I had no problems staying clean. After all I am a non-smoker nowthink like one, act like one and live life healthier. J I am so happy for you that you conquered your fear.

Good news - I came here too late to advise you before you went - to rejoice in your freedom, replace I "can't" with I "don't want to", yada yada yada. Glad it all worked out okay. The freedom really is yummy, isn't it. doodlebug, whatever you do, don't feel pathetic. Feel proud...you are overcoming this addiction one day at a time, like all of us. Is it not awesome that you have come so far? And is it not awesome that you will be one of the fresh breath/fresh smell people at the party and not one of the stinky ones? And whoever was it who proclaimed that you have to smoke to be at a party and have fun? That was Mr. Junkie! N2K is so right...stop thinking about the party and think about tomorrow ... are you ready to go back to your former level of consumption? You can do it. Don't let that stinkin' thinkin' overtake your mind. Have fun!
