Haven't seen this thread move for a little while, RD, so I thought I'd check in and see if you're still watching the board. Maybe you post elsewhere and I've just missed it. I don't usually get a chance to go to all the different threads, unfortunately. At any rate - hope you're still at it! Hi, Regular Dad. Welcome to the SSC and congratulations on over a month quit. That is fantastic! :) If you haven't done so, I strongly suggest you read through Infinite_D's threads here, especially his "Here I Go Again" thread. He's just past a year tobacco-free and that was the thread that started it all. It's a great read of a quitter holding firm through some pretty strong challenges. I also suggest you work through this site's Online Quit Program. I know it's geared toward smokers, but nicotine addiction is nicotine addiction regardless of the delivery system. Just replace the smoking terms with dipping/chewing terms and you've got it. You're okay not doing things you used to dip while doing. That's fine. Once you're secure in your quit, then you can take these things back up as you feel ready to. One of my big things was sitting on the back porch and smoking while I read through something I needed to understand well. I was quit about 9 or 10 months before I felt confident enough to do that, it was that strong of a trigger. But just about everything else got whipped in the first 2 or 3 months. Right now, patience is key. Stay close, Regular Dad. Read much, post often, let us know how you're doing. I'm glad you've joined us.
