Grace:
Why is it that the majority of me does not want to smoke. I feel like the strongest part is in control. So why do i feel like that week little part of me is gonna win. I don't want to be a smoker anymore, but there is a small part of me screaming for a cig. Dang junkie, I thought I locked him in the closet. I guess he had to poke his ugly head out at least for a little while.
The strongest part of you IS in control Grace. Don't you doubt yourself. The reason why you feel that the weak little part of you is going to loose to Nicodemon is because you remember your habit. You have memories of your habit. It will take time for you to disassociate yourself from them. Time Grace ... time ... so just hang in there and be patience. You are going to beat your addiction. Believe it and make it come true. And the next time Nicodemon tries to poke his head out of the closet ... slam the door and snap his neck off. :8o: Works for me. ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 105 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,179 Amount Saved: $420 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 21 Mins: 56 Seconds: 9

grace, You can do this. Not only can you but you are doing this. Go look at yourself in the mirror. Look at the non-smoker looking back at you. That is YOU! A person who doesn't smoke anymore. Be proud of yourself. Yes, quitting sucks and sometimes the craves seem to last forever, but believe me, these feelings pass. What are you doing to distract? Take deep breaths and find something to occupy your mind and your hands. Do something FUN! Something that makes you laugh and makes you happy. That is the best way to take your mind off of a crave. What about rewards? Have you had any of those lately? You have a wonderful quit going. You do not want to give that up. You are on your way to freedom and you are going to love being a non-smoker! My suggestion would be a big fat reward. and if you're worn out, try some womanly wiles ;p to get him to stay home and just kick back tonight....like the others say, go out tomorrow night. You CAN make this work.....you ARE making it work.....come on..puff up just a bit...you deserve it....you are doing great!! Katy
