Hi folks I recently passed the two months mark and I felt that it was important for me to restate my reasons for quitting publicly. I do this so I don't become complacent about what I am doing and fall like I did on previous quits. Maybe we could use this post to all restate our reasons for quitting and recommitt afresh. In anycase here are my reasons - thanks for the airtime. ------------------------------------------------------------------- I committing to being smoke free because I want to prove to myself that I can. I want to save my money and save my health. I want to be free from the pernicious slavery that is smoking. Being smoke free will allow me to exercise my self discipline muscles and I expect my self respect and self esteem to grow as a result. I want to smell gorgeous. I want to breath easy. I want to be able to exercise without feeling like my chest is going to explode. I want to be fit. I want to invest in my future and a healthy older age. I want to do this so that I can feel proud of myself. I consider myself to be someone who cares for the environment so I must care for the immediate enviroment that is my body. This necessitates being smoke free. I want to come out of the hole that I find myself in when I am smoking. I want to dispel the myth that I relax when I smoke - nonsense - I am usually grabbing 5 minutes to suck down a sickarette before i rush back to other things. Cigarettes stress me out -they never relax me - never, ever ever - remember this above all else. I am moving to a new house and I want it to be completely unpolluted by cigarette smoke. It will be my first home to be smoke free. I just want rid of the weed and to live easily and peacefully as a smokefree gal. Here's to my quit - long may it continue. All the best Sharon My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 59 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 593 Amount Saved: 158.71 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 23 Mins: 38 Seconds: 47

I want to be the one in control....I am never again going to let a bunch of dried, rolled up, burning weeds literally run my life. and then there is smelling good, saving money, feeling smarter, not to mention breathing, running, being hugged by people....and on and on and on and on.
