Since the beginning of my quit I have struggled with the reward program. Not the idea of it, but just coming up with ideas for rewards. My car is parked on this very spot to the left!
This last week, I finished the remodel on our house. As an early christmas present to eachother, my wife and I bought new living room and family room furniture, and it was delivered on friday. We have waited a long time for this, the old couch and loveseat were 12 years old and tired!
While the wife was out x-mas shopping I detailed the downstairs on saturday and Sunday. I finished with the area looking showroom new.
I then grabbed a beer and put Sunday Night Football on and settle into the new couch for basically the 1st time. My towns San Diego Chargers were playing, and quite well I might add. They are, as John Madden said, "The best football team in the NFL". Super Bowl? maybe , but that is aside from the point.
Somewhere in the 1st quarter of the game, I looked around and surveyed my accomplishments on my home, I took a deep breath in through my nose and let the smell of fresh paint, new carpet and Leather mix, linger and exhale. At that moment I said (out loud) "THIS is my reward!" :)
Thanks for letting me gloat...I have alot to be proud of right now.
