WHOO HOO!! I would say good luck, but that implies *trying*, so I will say way to go!!! Do or Do Not; There is no trying - Yoda Grin :p I crossed the road to freedom at 9:36 am this morning. I upped my Quit by another day, as I could not stand the thought of another cigarette. I finished "the book" and am so done with the little nico-monster I could just dance. Actually I think I may do that in a little while I'm feeling so excited! I had a little ritual, talked to my last smoke as it burned down, then I flushed the rest of his buddies right down the toilet. I recorded my exact quit time, signed my little contract and now I'm in process of erradicating all traces of cigarettes from my home, and my vehicle, but wanted to stop in a see how you were doing real quick like. :) I'll be back later on to post and read more. Everyone take care, and crave the Quit! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Hi Ladycigevictor, Congrats on day one. The medication really helped my quit. I only had a few rough spots on the first day. Be prepared if it happens. I know it got me on the seventh day. Just remember we are here. Let me know if you need me to e-mail your husband the 0 to _itch in two seconds. :) I know you will have continued success. Hi everyone, Thanks for dropping by to see how it's going. I was really sleepy this morning so didn't take the time to name each of you individually, but lol you already know your names and now you know I'm thanking each and every one of you for your continued support. Texas....WAY TO GO!!! We have the same quit day now :p Isn't it exciting to be free and not to have to try anymore? It is liberating, but I'm not letting my guard down for one teeny tiny minute and hope you're doing the same. Keep your info handy where you can whip it out at a moments notice for a refresher. Penguin, I've neglected to get to the rookery this week, but hope the weather's fine there and I'm coming to visit soon. Danielle, a special thanks to you and all the staff here for the wonderful welcome and following up so diligently on all these posts! So many people benefit from your expertise and caring. Lady, lol I still have the info you gave me and will use it if it's needed. I believe the prep work paid off in spades but I do have a question if you or anyone can answer. I wasnt sure youd want to hear this if youre having a hard day, but I have to share to see if anyone else has experienced this and what happened to them afterwards. So here's the situation. I think I might be a freak of nature or else Im so numb from lack of sleep or the medication. So far (and I know its early yet) I haven't even had one craving of any note!!! Sure, I had a twinge when I thought about smoking after breakfast, but it was not a craving, merely a quick recognition of not needing to smoke anymore, that I could just get on with clean up in the kitchen! It happened after lunch as well and again I just mentally reminded myself that I don't smoke anymore and the thoughts just melted away. I am still thinking of smoking, but theyre happy thoughts popping into my mind, like oh boy, I can just go fold the laundry without looking for the ashtray and lighting a smoke first. This happened a few times and Ive been smiling and happy all day! Is this normal for day one??? I sure hope so and hope it stays this way, but has anyone else had a great first day only to get kicked really hard the next? To be honest it was much harder doing my self-imposed cut down without any

Whew, thanks for the info! I'm just gob smacked that it's even possible to get off this lucky! I'm not going to look the gift horse in it's mouth and I do thank the Lord above. I know it's not over but I'm happy I worked so hard to cut down. Lady, I don't know how you or anyone else has the fortitude to just go cold turkey....you're made of good stuff...lol, remind me never to challenge you to an arm wrestling contest. NOPE, I've made a promise to myself on my dearly departed Daddy's grave to never light or take a puff from an ciggy again as long as I live, amen its over. mercy74 thanks for the big vote of confidence. I wanted to try Chantrix but it's not available in Canada. So ended up with generic zyban/wellbutrin lowest possible dose the doctor thought would work for me. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who's excited to be quitting and I'll be as prepared as possible for those lingering psychological cravings. JT, I love that 0 to B***ch in 2 seconds, but you need to send it to me, not my hubby because I think he's the grumpier one. After all, he's outside smoking in the cold and I'm all cozy and happy inside!!!!!!!! He even asked me today why I didn't wait till summer to quit. I just told him I liked what's left of my lungs thank you and I've decided to keep every bit of what I have left of them....Thankyou for smoking outside. Ok, thanks again everyone ;) Pat My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Hello Jnine, Sorry I did'nt see your post till just now but thankyou for wishing me well. Yes I do know how to say no and will use it very loudly whenever necessary! Lady, I'm right here! Been hanging out with my quit buddies Rainie and MrMagic on the Magic Ship Thread in this fourm. We've been finding it easier to keep track of each other there. Come on over and join in our party! Or just drop by and check out the updates and leave us a joke or thought. We're having a wonderful time kicking ash and lots of people are droping by. Things have been going unbelieveably well for me. I'm not letting my guard down, but it's 4 days now with only 1 small craving and I feel so blessed. The sleep inturreption from the medication has been the hardest to cope with but this is temporary so I'm tickled over all. I'm happy to feel my body healing, so any small discomfort in that area is more than welcomed. How are you doing? I've been thinking of you. Keeping track of so many new quitters is more than a full time job, so don't over work yourself. ;) Thanks for the tip on searching old posts, it's been interesting reading. Lol, still doing a little homework on preventing relapse just in case the old demon is trying to set me up for later :eg: I'll be ready for him, so he might just as well keep on running like the sneaky rascal he really is. I appreciate you looking me up, and hope to see you soon.
