Hi all,
It has been a very long time since I last visited here. I rarely think about smoking or quitting these days, but just now I heard the sad news on the radio that brought it back into my thoughts.
Allen Carr has just died of lung cancer aged 72.
He quit smoking (100 a day) 23 years ago, but it is being said that being continually exposed to passive smoke in his clinics may have led to the disease.
I have never read his books, but I know that many of the key principles are quoted regularly here at SSC and were a huge help to me in making my quit stick.
It's ironic that someone whose messages even "second hand" can help people to quit has possibly died because of "second hand" smoke.
RIP Mr Carr, you will never be forgotten until the world's last cigarette has turned to ash.
