Well, yes, I reset my meter and am focusing on my challenges ahead. Yes, my dear friends, I was diagnosed with IDC (Invasive Ductal Carcinoma). Yesterday I was called by my regular physician and told the blood results showed I also have hypertension (high blood pressure) AND a hyperthyroid. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO needless to say, I have been overwhelmed and the first news is why I had picked up that pack 8 days ago. Within two days, that pack was gone and in the garbage becuase of a dear friend here, AND because my doctor said (medical fact people) that IF i quit now, I have a better chance at fighting this cancer than if I was to continue smoking. That said, I'm finished with smoking forever. I'm 6 days (again) into my quit, but I haven't even had a chance to go thru hell week and the mourning process. Let this be a lesson, just quit. Just do it. I thought I was immune to ever getting cancer. HA not true. I may not have lung cancer and my doctor said yes, smoking could've helped the process along. I will try to pop in every once in a while, but I start chemo in a week. There are some of you who know my 6 month reward (doctor told me to have dreams and goals to keep me fighting)is to travel around the U.S. and to finally meet. Over the next 5 months I am going to dive right into that to divert my thinking to positive thoughts.
Just quit people.
Hugs
Kim
