Hi Duckie,
Sounds like everyone does them a little different....I did 6 weeks of 21 mg...and stepped down yesterday to the 14mg....I was only going to do 2 weeks...but I see someone else did 3 weeks of the 14 mg....so I'm considering that. At this point though....your off nicoteen, and even though it's hard....do you really want to reintroduce yourself back to it. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm...that's your call. Personally, I can't wait to be off the patches completely.....Looking forward to not having any sticky stuff on me!!!

Thanks Duckie,
I'm going to try the cranberry juice and I know I'm not drinking enough water (going to change that to). When I was a smoker...I was thirsty all the time and drank lot's of water...now, I'm not very thirsty at all, I just don't have dry mouth anymore (yeah!!).
I'll stick to the patch plan...2 weeks on 14mg and 2 weeks on 7mg, more water...a little cranberry juice and presto...nicoteen free in 4 weeks...woohoo!!!! Thanks for the help and info!!

What am I doing wrong? And no, I did not read the directions. How come everyone else is getting off patches around the 50 day or so mark? I did one box for the 21, 14 and 7mgs. As of yesterday I'm off and I want a cigarette!!! Actually the entire week of 7 was bad. Maybe I lost some patches somewhere (this is my 4th week smokeless - it doesn't add up). :(

wait i just remembered that i only did two 21 mg. this time. i had done them in past quit attempts, but this time i was smoking less at the start of my quit and i felt like i was gonna stroke out. so i went straight to 14mg.
3 weeks at 14 and 3 weeks at 7mg!!!!!!!! I don't know if I can keep up with all that. I'm telling ya, this is taking too much of my mental capacity. It was bad enough for me to remember to put it on once a day. What a hassle. I'll try a couple more days without and see what happens and keep the gum (which I havent' used since I started the patch) around just in case. I think I know where that gum is.

Hi Clear
I did the patches and have been off them for about one month now I think. There were always afew rough days each time I stepped down but no drastic changes after the first couple weeks. If you make it past 4 days, you probably have most of the nicotine out of your system. However, if you are feeling like you constantly want to smoke, you really should talk to your Pharmacist...you certainly did drop down quickly.
Good luck to you!

Imallclear,
I'm starting the patches on Jan. 1. Here's the line up.
6 wks at 21 mg
3 wks at 14 mg
2-3 wks at 7 mg.
You can buy the patches either 7 or 14 to a box. Maybe you shouldn't be off them yet.
Check it out.
