Duckie067,
Thanks for the wake up call. CAN WE ALL PLEASE, TAKE HEED?!!!
Some of us are stuck in a state of adolescence " I can't happen to me" or some of us are slowly suicidal " It won't happen to me for a long time and then only "if" or "It's about time".
Those of us who are trying to kill ourselves need to address this and those of use who are in denial need to quit.
It is tragic! My guts go out to you. And, if you are on this site to quit smoking - know that you will find nothing but support.

TY Free! Surprisingly, I have the inner peace. I am not as freaked out as I was back in June / July. I am saddened by the event but I am calm at the same time. I know it doesnt make sense or perhaps I am in denial about it and havent fully accepted it yet.
Does that make sense? *scratches head in confusion*

TY Free for the insight =) I was beginning to think I was just being numb to it all and in denial.
I can only pray he is in the cureable / treatable / liveable stage of it all.
It's still scarey tho. It makes me want to run the other direction. *insert wide eyes here*

TY everyone. I talked to my dad this morning and he is not sure which stage Derek is in. I will call my uncle and find out. I am still in shock over it and this has cemented my quit even more.
All I know is that this is a scarey event for me.

TY G and Windy. I hope the docs have caught it early enough. I told my husband about it this morning as he was sleeping when my dad called yesterday afternoon. My hubby chews and after I told him 30 mins ago, he has agreed to quit chewing today.
He said after he wakes up (he works Mids), he will go out and buy some form of NRT.
