Back when she was young, she used to do gymnastics. It was second nature to her. She didn't have to think twice about how to do a round-off, or even a double flip. She had a fantastic routine on the uneven parallel bars all the way through the dismount.
Over the years, she strayed from practicing, eventually dropping it altogether.
Years later, she realized how much she missed it. She's been working at it for more than nine months now. She started off slowly, learning the basics all over again. She struggled almost daily. Even though these used to be very routine exercises for her, she still struggles.
Finally, she can do the more basic things as a matter of fact. She doesn't have to think about how to place her feet for a round up. But she does still have to concentrate on sticking the landing after a flip. And the unevens? She's getting used to them, but finds she still needs a spotter, just in case.
