Texas_Ivy, Thanks for checking in and congratulations on 25 days! Herbal supplements may provide great therapeutic benefits. However, it is known that natural alternatives are not always safe. Some supplements have been shown to interact with medications, cause allergic reactions or aggravate certain medical conditions. We advise you to consult with your doctor or pharmacist before commencing any alternative therapy. Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi there Marie, good to see you doing so good. I personally know that the new life as a non-smoker somehow becomes very busy. Marie, We formed such a bond when we were early quitters, then it seemed several went away. Some would post and say they felt great and were leaving and other would just vanish into cyber space. I use to get so upset when someone was leaving. Kind of like losing a friend or something. I met some that I still keep in touch with. I still have my quit buddies and they still support me in other areas of my life as well as my quit. Get on the IM and exhange email addresses and IM addresses. It really made the difference for me in this quit. I knew I couldn't let my non-smoking friends down. The disappointment would be too much. You are doing a great job. At 30 plus days you are an expert at quitting! Do you have any idea how many people dream of being quit for 30 something days????? Congratulations! Hi, Im ashamed to admit that I am one of those people who used the site to quit, and kind of stopped using it once I was comfortable in my quit. I popped back in this time to write a short note to let others know that it can be done, and maybe give someone some courage to help them along. In my case, leaving the site was a bit of a personal statement to myself, that I now can cope on my own, and that not smoking is not an issue. I hope this is not sounding arrogant or rude, what I am trying to say is that leaving the site was part of accepting and reinforcing the attitude that not smoking was my normality, not an effort. I do pop in now and again, because, after all, I would not have managed without all the great people that there are here! Popping in to say that I still occassionally stop in to check on the site. I am proud to say that smoking is still in my past and I can tell you I couldn't have done it without this board and it's support. I work full time and am currently living with two ( non life threatening ) diseases. I have a wonderful family and job and they all take up plenty of my days. I belong to other sites that reflect my current struggles that I need to go to for support, but never forget this one. In fact, finding this site and having the success that I had because of the support that I found here, prompted me to do the same with my newest struggles. Everyone...please hang in there! This is doable. I smoked for 30 years and can proudly say that I am smoke free now for: Five years, one month, two weeks, 5 hours, 0 minutes and 16 seconds. 56136 cigarettes not smoked, saving $7,017.03. Life saved: 27 weeks, 5 days, 22 hours, 0 minutes. Good luck to you all! SP

Hello to everyone. Broke left arm 3 weeks ago and during triage, they discovered 3 more things that keep me in CCU until yesterday. I did not want to smoke...yet, in those 3 weeks, 3 CCU patients jerked vents out of throat, demanding wildly for a smoke - one arrest even made when a family member got involved. See, we do not come here for a variety of reasons...including hospital and typing of keyboard with tip of nose. ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/10/2001 Smoke-Free Days: 1980 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 118,808 Amount Saved: $19800 Life Gained: Days: 396 Hrs: 0 Mins: 36 Seconds: 31
