Liz, Dont go looking for a smoke. Remember, you are a non smoker now! Just think of the reason you quit in the first place. Keep lookin at the list of reasons. There has to be at least one reason or you wouldn't have quit. Please dont give up the two almost 3 days you were smoke free. YOur body has started the healing process. Just keep breathing. HI Liz - Hopefully you are sleeping like a baby by now... Quitting is tough stuff... take some time to read as much as possible here - it's time to build up some powerful coping skills... Distractions are magical in the tough times too... So one moment at a time, one thing at a time, dear one... Hold on tight... one foot in front of the other. And most importantly... your commitment to quitting... hold on to that commitment... no smoking - N.O.P.E. - that's the only way to quit... not one puff ever. Reach out when you need help - someone will be around... Blessings and Sweet Dreams - Healer My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 271 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,486 Amount Saved: $1260.15 Life Gained: Days: 35 Hrs: 3 Mins: 35 Seconds: 50

Hi Liz, I've always heard you shouldn't go looking for trouble :) Instead of searching for cigs, begin practicing distraction. It's one of those vital keys for getting through. Your body is rapidly changing... I know the feelings aren't pleasant... but this is literally your body's way of telling you that it's begun recovery. It's trying to rid itself of the poisons... so every annoying feeling you have... every crave that you get through... you progress towards being healthier and free. While you're so focused on just getting through these moments, also try to see the good things that are happening. Even at 2 days, your skin should be regaining some color, your smell should be improving, even your eyes will begin to look brighter...oxygen levels have improved... circulation has improved.... and this is just for starters. Our bodies are pretty amazing. Let it heal :) "This too shall pass"... Hang tight. Hello Liz, I just passed the 3 and half year mark of not smoking right here on this website, I never really thought I would succeed, Its very hard not to Quit this addiction, without a great possitive attitude, and a strong Motivation, If You can keep those two things very close to You, You too will be a winner, What really Jump-Started me, was after my first or second week of my quit, I must have had 15 or 20 Reply's saying, Come on John, You can do it, We will do it Together, And Liz, I didn't even know these People on this Website, and they were cheering me on from around this big world of Ours, United States, Canada, Austrailia, France, England, Ireland, And thats when I said to myself, I can't let these good People down, There in my corner cheering for me, and then I started cheering for them, so We sort of bonded together, I am responding to You today, like they responded to me 3 and 1/2 years, So I would recommend gritting Your teeth, and getting the eye of the tiger, and tell Yourself, ''' IF THEY CAN DO IT, I CAN DO IT,''' liz, these ackes and pains of Quitting this addiction don't last the rest of Your life, If You can hang tough for the next 3 or 4 months, You will have that Tiger by the tail, O'Yeow, I will leave You with this message, It worked for me, I gave up the addiction of smoking, But I replaced it with the addiction of Excercising every day, walking 3 miles, and eating healthy foods, Do this, and those Cigerettes will be much easier to put out of mind, Good Luck In Your Journey, and don't look back, Smokless In Oklahoma :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/10/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1363 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 40,911 Amount Saved: $5833.64 Life Gained: Days: 322 Hrs: 7 Mins: 59 Seconds: 52

Liz, Use that energy for chores and activities! You can continuously add members to your IM and always log in when you are on the site, this will make it easier for you and members to connect. There are members from all around the world so it may take a while to figure out the time differences. Start any discussion you like within any forum that is appropriate. Ask questions and post what you are feeling, we can help :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
