Ki,
The only thing I can say is that this site is supposed to be motivational. The meter is only one tool in the arsenal. What if a person who slipped and smoked a couple of cigs HAD to reset the meter and lost all motivation.
"Well, I had to reset my meter anyway, so I may as well smoke a while until I decide I will quit again."
And how long would they smoke before quitting again?
It's an honor thing, too, of course, but I would rather see someone slip and get right back on the quit instead of losing their motivation and letting a perfectly good quit go to he**.
Even if current smokers are using this site, which many of us did for a week or more before the quit, this site has a way of getting under your skin for many people. It was so much easier to begin the journey knowing how many folks were here to help if I needed it, or to catch me if I fell down and to help me get back up. We are all here to help each other in many ways. If you notice, many people are giving back for the help they have received, and it's not only help to quit smoking. People's lives have been changed by posting on this site!
To me, that's way more important than whatever any meter says.
But it's only my opinion.
