Well LG, until this new system, I honestly thought you were a woman... AND I thought I'd figured out who you are (meaning, which oldie... since you know ALL the old posts, I'm sure you've been around this site for a while). But now that you're a man, I have NO clue who you are! You keep eluding me!!! LOL! That's OK though... I like the challenge! ;) Crave the Quit! How are things going for you now @ 72 days???? I am doing good, a bit of heartburn this week, don't know if that is actaully related, but noted others had trouble with it too. I am off the patches 11 days, and so far so good. Am actually feeling very good about this quit! I think this just might be the last one! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 73 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,825 Amount Saved: $770.15 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 23 Mins: 54 Seconds: 19

Cool! And very handsome I might add! You do remind me of the actor, who played Johnny Cash in the recent movie, something Phoenix. :8|: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 73 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,825 Amount Saved: $770.15 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 23 Mins: 52 Seconds: 31

Thanks for the "very early" part, Lainey. I'm 49 in that pic. It was taken six months ago. And if you think I look serious there, you should have seen me during hell week. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 72 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,800 Amount Saved: $666.00 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 16 Mins: 17 Seconds: 33

Great post LG, The more days you get behind you the less attractive smoking becomes. I was at 72 days once and one day you will be at 1000 - just keep doing it! All The Best Penitent d1094

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

This thread has revealed some passions. I think that's a good thing, and it's just what I'd hoped to generate when I started the thread. There's nothing like scratching people's suppositions to get a good diologue going! :) The fact is folks, the more we examine our ideas about these things, the firmer our foundation. And whether we all come to some homogenous approach is no indicator of how well we're doing. Rainey, I'm swell... aside from a cold. :) Pen, if I had over a thousand days smoke-free in, and I was still dealing with thoughts of smoking on a regular basis, I'd think something was wrong. But for many of us, craving generated thoughts of smoking do come, and speaking for myself... when those thoughts come, they are met with realism rather than romanticism. And the effect of that, I find, is that my mind finds those thoughts less and less attractive... while finding my present non-smoking experience more and more attractive. This is what works for me. Your experience may be different. I'll answer your question with a question why would I want to consider the proposition of going back to smoking and all the grief that that may bring. I don't smoke and I don't think about it end of story. I may be wrong but I sense that you are spending more time looking back rather than forward and that is not a good thing if you really want to remain smokefree. Quit or smoke, the choice, quite simply, is yours. Good Luck Penitent d1094

Lookingglass, with each day that passes, we are getting further and further away from thinking about smoking. In resaerching today I read that after six months, the thoughts of cigarettes drops dramatically. We are almost half way there!!! How are you doing??? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 72 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,800 Amount Saved: $759.60 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 21 Mins: 34 Seconds: 39
