Missthing1974,
Don't discourage! It is obvious to me that you are very disciplined and working hard towards your goal.
Keep on your regiment of healthy eating and exercise and you will get there!
Something to consider; fasting has been shown to slow your metabolism. Subsequently, because of that slowdown, your workouts are not as effective and when you start eating again your body has a harder time burning off those calories.
If you find yourself struggling, seek a professional consultation. See what light they can shine on this subject.
Keep persevering!

That's quite a regiment! You'll be in top shape in no time!
Windy,
Don't feel too guilty. Just as you said your quit has to be your priority and you can tackle this when you're ready.

Thanks for the tip.
Be sure to consult your doctor before starting any regiment. It may not be right for you if you have certain medical conditions.

Greenette,
Yes, the weight gain is never good for a diabetic but smoking is far worse! In the coming weeks, keep in mind that any weight you do gain is temporary and your quit helps bring your sugars down the natural way.(Smokers have higher sugars than non-smokers). Monitor them closely and consult your doctor about your medication should you feel the need.
This is the bar none the best thing you can do to help yourself manage your diabetes! Keep an eye out on you selections and portions and you should do just fine.
Keep strong.
Danielle
