Wow, I've completely neglected this thread!
Finally back online, and hubby and I are still smoke-free (though I think his meter is a few days off 'cause he slipped)!! We still have moments when we're out shooting pool in our league that each of us has a craving, but since I'm concentrating on my lungs' health there's no way I'm starting over again!
When hubby used to turn to me and say he was about to bum a smoke, this used to cause fights. Now, he tells me he's craving, and we've gotten somewhat more comfortable...my standard answer is "I know, I am too". Being princess of the guilt trip (the queen knows who she is), I sometimes add "but if you smoke, then you're going to make it so I want to smoke, and then you'll be responsible for ruining both our quits!" This usually does the trick. That and the fact he's on the wellbutrin, and the fact that smokers really stink now. Literally! I tried to put on a sweatshirt the next day after being out at the bar and I just couldn't wear it because it stunk so bad. I can't believe I lived with my clothes reeking like that!
Anyway, to sort of "treat" myself for quitting, I started making all those doctors' appointments that I knew I couldn't as a smoker. I'm now getting treated for my allergies...which seem WAY worse since I've quit, but will eventually get better with treatment. Funny I call getting 4 shots once a week a "treat", especially when I feel like hell, but it is. Maybe I'm a bit masochistic like that :)
Anyway, keep it up fellow Feb-ers. We rock!!!
