feeling depressed

for 18 år siden 0 19 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I know for sure I felt bad on day eight. All I could do was think about smoking. After a bit determination the thoughts of smoking came less and less. I think you are doing great and you have to remind yourself that you are choosing to quit, and although it may be tough you will remain strong. Hang in there, and we are all there for you. Hi Paul Sorry you feel so low. Do you think it's because it's the weekend? Remember, you've given up a constant companion..it's natural to feel sad. Actually, I felt pretty bad on day 8 too. I think in my case it was because I had built up being smoke-free for a week..then had kind of a let down the next day. Much better the past few days, though. Have you been noticing any particular triggers/times of day that you want to smoke more? What are you using for coping? I'm using deep breaths, a big glass of water, talking on the phone, and reading and posting here. I think the coping with cravings section has some good suggestions. Good luck and keep posting..and do NOT smoke!!!!!!! No matter what!!!!!!!! You are through the worst...you don't want to go through the first 72 hours again, do you?????? -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 388 Amount Saved: $61.2 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 8 Mins: 10 Seconds: 16

Iv been smoke free for almost 3 weeks. I was really depressed for about a week and a half. Im feeling much better now. It was like I lost something.[my friend]. Hang in there. When you stop havig as many cravings and start thinking like a non smoker you feel alot better. i My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 19 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 354 Amount Saved: $85.5 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 14 Mins: 1 Seconds: 56

Read, read, read, read ,read. That is the best advice I can give you, for on this site, there are hundreds of people who have gone thru exactly what you are going thru now, and though each one if different - you will find it somewhere. You have to give your body a chance to get the drug out of your system, and your psyche some time to adjust to the new way of living. It is all here, just seek & you will find! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 30 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 760 Amount Saved: $316.5 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 16 Mins: 15 Seconds: 9

Paul...I know exactly what you mean the last time I quit I had the blues...I dont know what you are using to help aid you with your quit..but zyban or wellbutrin really helped take the edge of of the depressive feelings. My sister quit smoking and she started these treatments after she had started her quit for this exact reason and It really helped her maintain her quit.. I am not trying to push drugs..but if the depression gets too bad you may want to talk to your doctor about these aids. Also...Remember that the first 3 weeks to the month are the worst..It is the part I am dreading the most about my quit... You can make it through....good luck
