Another good one BfS,
Since my last quit it was:
- It allows me to collect my thoughts
- It's my weight control program
- It's my stress relief
- I've got too much stress in my life now, I'll quit later
- It helps keep me calm when things are tense
- It's my do something when I've got nothing else to do
For years I bought one, two or three packs at a time mostly to punish myself because buying them made me feel rediculous. I don't recall the last time I enjoyed a cigarette.
The fact of the matter is that smoking caused me more stress than it ever saved me. Having to manage the habit and addiction under increasing restrictions and penalties. Doing something to yourself that you know is harmful and being out of control. I'm perfectly able to collect my thoughts and I'm more calm than I use to be, I don't get spun up as easily or as often. I still get a minor crave when I get bored but I'm working on it. This site is part of that strategy; when I have nothing else to do I'm here.
As for the weight, oh well. This required another life change that I was perfectly happy and motivated to make. I'm eating smarter and exercising and the weight thing will also be under control.
