New Me, you are on the right path and you keep that mindset you have, and you will have no problem succeeding. Keep the Quit. Freebird ~'~ P.S. If you can get up early enough, maybe you start the day with some exercising. Really helps to start the day. Good morning all, I was up bright and early this am. That just did not happen when I was a smoker. I would sleep until the last available minute. I was thinking about what makes one turn the corner in their quits. By that, I mean, start feeling good about the quit instead of gritting the teeth and bearing it until it gets better. For me, it is the belief that not smoking is REALLY a better lifestyle than smoking. When I get those craves after a meal, or driving my car, or any of the numerous triggers that we experience, I just think to myself; NOT smoking is SO MUCH better than smoking. Why would I want to subject myself to a life long addiction? It has to stop sometime, and the sooner, the better. In my previous quits, it was always the, "I can have just one", that lured me back into nicotine use. Sure, I would have "just one", but 30 minutes later, I had "just one" again. It is a merry go round of deception. Experience the craves that come, but use self talk, tell yourself how joyous you are to be free from this horrible addiction and, MOVE ON with your life. We have the definite hope of looking forward to the day when smoking will not even cross our minds. That will be my true freedom date! Have a great smoke free day all. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 264 Amount Saved: $55.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 13 Mins: 51 Seconds: 27
