One of the thing's that I personal feel is complete and absolute frustration when I make a post like this ! If you have a headache I can recommend an aspirin,if you have a cold I can at least suggest chicken soup. If you get cancer you have an operation and or have chemo therapy. If you are addicted to crack , heroin , crystal meth you can at least get methadone to help you. And then as I was reading what I had just typed I realized having an addiction is a whole new ballgame !! Thanks Penitent, your post sounds so right, I am working on this no smoke thing sooooo hard, will never give up and hopefully one day the easy will fall into place, it did for my husband but after 10 years, he has been quit for 37 years. smoked 3 cigs. at 10 years, said they tasted so terriable he couldn't smoke again and from that day forward never had a crave nothing as if he had never smoked, the only one I know of that happened that way, he is so lucky! oh by the way everytime I look at your pict. (is it you?) I think of James Bond or a spy movie, and that is a good thing, lol lol hugs and prayers, James, lol lol Bobbi My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/27/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 87 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,610 Amount Saved: $217.50 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 18 Mins: 1 Seconds: 57

Bobbi, I am sorry that you are struggling after 87 days but two things come to mind. Firstly, you are still early in your quit and have some way to go to be "free". I'm fine now but it wasn't over for me that early, I still had to work at it and hard! Secondly, I sense that you may not yet have made the mental trade of the smokes for the better life. I really believe that the mindset of acceptance of what is now, is key to success. Another thing - always post if you are encountering difficulties. Good Luck :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/18/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1130 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 22,600 Amount Saved: 5,650.00 Life Gained: Days: 181 Hrs: 11 Mins: 37 Seconds: 40

Lainey and Windy, good to read your posts, that there are people out there that have been quit sometime and still have hard times, sometimes I feel like a whinnie b---, the longer I have quit, sometimes I feel ashamed to come on this board and say I am having a real hard time, like man after this long get over it! does anyone else feel like that? so it really makes me feel better when I read that someone who has been quit longer then me is haveing a very hard time, not that I want them to but helps me not feel like a freak when I am having a hard time and need support, no matter how long I have been quit, IT IS NOT EASY!and I am fighting soooo hard and I try everything I read or hear to try to make it easier for me, but at times there is nothing that helps just alot of pain and discomfort, so I just go through it, tough it out at least I am not smoking! Can't sleep tonight is 1:45 am and one of those wish I were happy I am not smoking, what is something for me I could never go back to smoking and feel like I did before, not now that I know all the bad stuff of smoking and how much better I can breathe, never cough, my life is so confusing right now :confuse: each day I get up I look for the turning point and one day it will sure be there! I will continue my journey with no cigs! Well guess what I just did what I said I don't feel comfortable doing boo hooing, well I do know my march mellow fam. will be there for support! that is if anyone can even figure out what I have just said at now 2:00 am lol Happy Friday all! hugs and prayers, Bobbi ps oh boy Bear you really got me going, wow! lol My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/27/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 87 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,610 Amount Saved: $217.50 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 17 Mins: 50 Seconds: 37

Hi Bear - I really feel like the quitting process and a constant journey. I have been very stressed out lately and I would really like "a quick fix" I'm long past the stage where I believe that a cigarette would make me feel better so it's been a learning process to find new ways to deal with the stress that life throws our way. Wishing you all the best as you travel along your journey. I can't help but think that mental addictions themselves produce chemicals. Physically many have quit.....but you need to quit mentally too. Some deal with the mental addiction from the drug. If one is being plagued by fond thoughts of smoking I think it may produce an addicting brain chemical likewise. Just a thought mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 151 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,020 Amount Saved: $674.97 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 21 Mins: 56 Seconds: 43

Pen you were too easy on Bear, I was going to suggest that he go out and rake all the sand traps. I, like Pen, had a very easy quit but there are those who struggled and lost, struggled and won it is all so very personal. Every one is different and nicotine really attacks the body. Some recover well and others never do recover. All we can do is try and realize that there are many who are still around with over 800 days quit. Set your goals high and reach for the bar. Good luck to you Bear and hope to see you on top of the mountain. Hey Bear! I am one of the folks having some grief this week, despite being over 100+ days. I agree with you in thinking, its dead & gone, can't be from nicotine, but my research tells me otherwise. In searching for an answer I posted for help. In researching old posts I found alotof posts saying it is perfectly normal. What I suspect is that because I used the patch to quit, I have only been nicotine free for 47 days which could explain some of my troubles. The drug isn't leaving our system until the NRT is finished so we have to keep that in mind! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 108 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,700 Amount Saved: $1,139.40 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 6 Mins: 7 Seconds: 23
