Humorous quitting experiences

At the moment I cannot think of anything funny...give me a minute though. I do remember being stressed at a new job (that I have since left) and a co-worker told me to go outside for a smoke to relax. I just looked at her real serious and said, "but I don't smoke." It took me a few minutes to realize what I had said. I was soooo proud of myself! LOL!! That's great, John!!! And yeah... I do identify. Well, I'm sure that the stuff I've done recently won't seem too odd to you folks, but just so you know that you're not alone... About twice a day I'll be sitting at the computer, deep in thought... and reach up to grab my burning cigarette out of the ashtray. And, of course, there is neither a smoke or an ashtray. Now I just smile when that happens. Oh, and I took some of my students camping (along with some other teachers), and the first night we were there we were building a fire... and a co-worker asked, "Does anyone have a lighter". My response was immediate; "Yup, right here" I said as I dug into my pocket... and then... "Ah... no, I guess I don't...ah... I quit...er" My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 128 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,200 Amount Saved: $1,184.00 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 16 Mins: 48 Seconds: 32

Thought it would be nice to post some of our funny experiences with quitting. Common guys, you have to admit there were some things that may not have been funny at the time but now looking back makes you laugh. I'll start... I have a bad memory! Day 1, reached to my shirt pocket about 15 times for my cigarettes. I kept my Chantix card there. Day 2, on Chantix (side affects) wake up at 5AM to my wife spraying air freshiner in the bedroom then spanks me and gives me a mean look. What?? What I do??!! My day 3 and late for work, I spent 10 minutes looking for my lighter. And a really cool moment, someone approached me at work on day 60 and asked me how the smoking was going.... I stopped looked at them with concerned look, I honestly didn't understand them, why are they asking me this? They then said, Your quitting smoking??? Hows it going? I smiled and said, Oh sorry forgot, Your right I used to smoke. :) a truly fine moment cause not only did I want to quit I wanted to forget I ever smoked.
