Audrey, you are not alone, you have all of us & we're all going to that interview with you. We'll be making sure there's no lint or dust on your clothes, your hair is smooth, you have your resume in a portfolio, your back is straight & your head held high. Because we believe in the "new but not really new, just the best she could always be but didn't know it" Audrey. Picture us if you get nervous, all our goofy avatars & all the wisdom of the longtimers that we have the great privilege of calling our friends. You can do this, Audrey, you will ace it, because look at the monster you've already slain! & if that doesn't work, think of Sven!! How realxing is that? Audrey Since you have an excellent work history, maybe you can look at it as interviewing the company to see if it is a place you'd like to work Change is often good, even tho it is unsettling -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 111 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,440 Amount Saved: $754.80 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 11 Mins: 10 Seconds: 55

Audrey, I know exactly what you mean. My entire world changed after I quit smoking. All for the better but there were times when the only thing I seemed to have were tears. It has been painful going through some of the changes. I too changed jobs and have had to let go of some friends that I thought were extremely important in my life. Change is good. As long as we can adjust to change, we are growing. Quitting smoking is a soul searching, life changing experience. I've referred to it time and again as a journey down the road less traveled. It is an awesome feeling to start a new job where no one knows you ever smoked. Take some deep breaths, keep your chin up and hold your head high! You have so much to be proud of!!! An interview in person after a phone interview means they are really interested in you! Your qualifications meet their expectations or they wouldn't be calling you in. The main point is to see if you fit in with their group and what you can offer. Go in there and just be yourself. I'm sure you will be fine!!!! Some of you may recall me struggling with a new identity. It's good but not easy and hurts sometimes. Now I can't seem to stop. I've been in the same company for 9 years on Friday (the 13th:-(). I feel like friends are all these smokers and I'm having trouble and feel pushed aside. So I have an interview tomorrow (and had a phone interview tonight). Figure a fresh start without my smoking background. It's just a LOT of new stuff to deal with on top of a new non-smoking life but I just feel different and need to shake an old life. Feel very alone and like I am pushing too many areas of my life, yet also am ready. Guess I'm just a little scared, and it's hard to impress on an interview when scared.
