Nicotine or Dopamine

for 17 år siden 0 1698 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I just got back from the local liquor store. The gals that work there are very pleasant. The one gal asked me how I was doing and I told her I had been smokless for 120 days which immediatly brought a tear to her eyes not exactly the reaction I expected. She then went on to tell me that her husband , who by the way is a chemist, had started smoking again after a period of 10 years. My reaction was why after this length of time would an educated man start smoking again ??? Well he started again because he enjoys smoking. Now if I've got this right smoking releases nicotine which travels through the blood to the brain which releases dopamine which gives us pleasure the Dr Feelgood of the brain. So just exactly is it that were addictide too ??? The nicotene. The dopamine ??? Or good old fashioned pleasure. :quest: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 120 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,160 Amount Saved: $1,200.00 Life Gained: Days: 27 Hrs: 12 Mins: 36 Seconds: 31
