Sam, Of course you can come off the patches! You came off cigarettes and step down to patches. Same thing, less nicotine but by then your body will have adjusted to the level of nicotine it's currently on. Please be sure to consult your MD or pharmacist before taking a herb. Although natural alternatives can provide great therapeutic benefits, they can also aggravate certain conditions or interact with medication. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Great, Sam! You are doing what it takes to give yourself the gift of health. I'm going to bump up a favorite thread of mine. It has two major advantages for when you're feeling low: 1) it is really long, so takes up a lot of time...lol...and 2) it is really funny...remember those endorphins? It's called Slipping from the SSC and is in the Preventing Relapse forum. The middle pages are the funniest...like around page 10 i think it starts getting really good. So, whenever you have time, maybe give it a look. But, sleep is good too ;p -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 123 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,920 Amount Saved: $836.40 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 5 Mins: 29 Seconds: 20

Well I haven't caved.. still hangin' by a thread. At this rate I'm gonna have really long arms with all this hangin'.. *joke* feeble one but still a joke..lol.. I'm zapped beyond words. I'm not thinking ahead about being off the patches.. I'm thinking that if I'm THIS way now ON the patches, how the hell will I be off of them or even stepping down. I don't mean to dwell on this but I'm truly feeling so so low..ya know ? Of course you know.. some of you have been right where I am now... uuugghhh.. Lainey I went to the herbal store today. I've been doing a lot of research about ginseng and there's one called Siberian Ginseng and from what I've read it's been well received .. helps out to reduce stress and fatigue levels. Got a bottle of that today.. can't hurt. Ohhhhhhh Sparky.. love the kittens ! Yes, I wanna dance.. :) Thanks Tresa - I know I'm normal, just not feeling all that sane. Just keep hangin'.. Sue - you're right. Gotta stop thinking.. just keep moving and doing. and now I'm going to cook dinner and then watch some t.v. and get to bed early again. Bed has become a very good friend of mine ;) Thanks guys.. your support is amazing and I feel so very lucky to have all of you watching my back. And a special thank you to my email buddy - a great source of inspiration and incredible support.. a super giving person.. mwaaaaaaaaaahhhh ! xo My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 340 Amount Saved: $123.25 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 23 Mins: 40 Seconds: 29

Sam, I had the same fear about going off chantix - but when the time was right I just simply stopped taking it and did fine. It wasn't a big deal. But when I was worrying about it, quitting without it, was I ready, etc....yeah I fretted a bit over that. All that anxiety didn't help me one bit!!! When the time is right, when you are ready it will just happen. Try not to worry about it. Sam, I had that happen too, more than once. I have had the blues pop up several times, and yes, it is more annoying than anything else because you know it is part of the healing process. Try vitamin B complex! It does help to keep things a bit more even! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 140 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,500 Amount Saved: $1,477.00 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 2 Mins: 58 Seconds: 17

'Normal, temporary, patience....' Ok.. have to keep telling me these things over and over. This morning, so far, it's not as bad as yesterday but have already had one good cry. I haven't gone CT, I'm using the patch and admittedly I was thinking ahead of myself .. What the hell is going to happen to me when I've completed the full course of the NRT?!?!? I'm going to go completely out of my mind ? -- I'm sounding like a mad woman... :8o: Up until yesterday I was coping, dealing, taking it one moment at a time, little baby steps, getting through my regular day NOT smoking and then it all seemed so sudden and I'm hating these feelings. I have a number of things which I must get done today and I wrote down a lot of your suggestions as well as making sure that I reward myself with little things and get lots of rest. This is one very hard addiction.. It's weird you know -- You can 'read' all about the things which may or may not happen to you but when it does happen it certainly throws you for a major loop. Thanks again guys for all of your help.. I'm hangin' by a thread,, but at least I'm hangin'.. right ? xo My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 340 Amount Saved: $123.25 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 22 Mins: 36 Seconds: 57
