Thanks everyone. I apologize for not getting back here, I have a problem remembering where I posted!!....lol I think I'll stay on the edgy one from now on...lmao Day 3 sucked as you will see, and day four (today) made me wonder if PMS can really be used as a defense for murder, but I am smoke free!! Hi Jessica Way to go on trying all kinds of things to resist the urge!!!!!! You are doing great! I just bumped up a thread called "Ask for help - Put it in writing" in the Coping with Withdrawals Forum. It starts out with a great letter that Lady Cigevictor wrote to her family. I thought of it for you and your husband. Maybe if you both kept it in mind, even printed out, it would help you get through these first few weeks when emotions are so raw. And in between times, rant away here! Livens up the place ;p -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 146 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,840 Amount Saved: $992.80 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 9 Mins: 35 Seconds: 32

Jessica, Welcome and good for you for persevering! We are here for support and will guide you every step of the way. Changing your routine is an excellent way to push those triggers away, so keep this up. Use exercise, stretching, reading, relaxing or watching T.V. to keep you from having that cigarette! This quit can bring havoc and anger, so take the time to breathe before you have angry words and know that your body is trying to heal itself. Continue to pamper yourself and know that this a life change for the better :) Congrats on 2 days! Josie, Support Specialist

Jessica, I cried too. I think all that emotion is part of quitting. I bet your DH doesn't know what to do with all of it. Rewards are so important. Plan your weekly reward, then 2 weeks etc...you are saving money by not smoking, it is a big motivator. I have some new throws now and during the first month I read one author's entire backlist and she is prolific! Also we munched on Eat Smart's white cheddar airs - you can get them at Lowes Foods or stores like Earth Fare - you can have 2 cups for 100 calories, they are wonderful. We did that at night to help with night craves. :) Sue My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 103 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,030 Amount Saved: $180.25 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 20 Mins: 36 Seconds: 38

It did help Sue - I laughed and snotted all at the same time...lol Crying and laughing at the same time is a talent I just don't have. My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 20 Amount Saved: $4.21 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 21 Seconds: 12

Jessica, Congrats on day 2! Try not to take it too personally. Hell week is tough for the both of you and will shorten your patience with each other. If anxiety and tension are getting to you, you can try relaxation or physical activity. Take a walk, the fresh air may do you some good and make you tired enough to sleep off the rest. :) Hang in there! Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist
